New Minelab

I wouldn't give Minelab another DIME of my Hand earned money. Minelab's last greatest feat here in the
States was the Production of the E-Trac. I swung the Explorer XS for 10 years and loved that machine.
In my OPINION, Minelab totally fumbled the Football with the CTX 3030. Sure there are guys that swear
by them but C'Mon now, No promised up-dates, LEAKY orifices everywhere, (USB port, battery compartment, etc.)
Can't even get it repaired right as some have sent theirs in 2 or 3 times. Then you have Minelab Jamie that thinks
she's some hero as she pushed repairs for people that others had been waiting in line for which seemed forever.
Tell me that's Great service as a Consumer of this waayyyy OVERPRICED machine. Minelab cares nothing for
you but your Money. I LMAO when the Go finds came out. Another disastrous marketing ploy and Junk at that.
So my final thoughts are you can have the new Equinox and Take a Gamble, but I know my DEUS finds more
Targets than a Minelab is Capable of. They are not Nearly as good on Low Conductors as the Deus and it
has all the speed I need in Iron infested sites where the Minelabs fall flat on their face. So Good Luck
to those of you waiting on the new Minelab as I'm sticking with the Almighty Deus!!! I look at CZ Connoisseur
and Trojdor's finds with the Deus and I see what's Posted on the CTX Forum for finds and I see many Complaints
about the Ctx except for those that are Truly Proficient with them and SPENT THE MANY hours to learn this
OVER-PRICED LEAKER... JMHO'S Now enough about Minelab that cares less about their Customers
Post anything NEGATIVE facts on the Ctx and your Posts get Deleted.
I have a 4 year old Ctx full package set up, used 10 minutes and I can't even sell it at a $700.00 loss.
What's that say about the Ctx? If it's not under Warranty your stuck with this machine you take a
GAMBLE ON. .. KEEPING MY DEUS 3.2 !!!

They did.
Was called a V3 though.

Check out this link.
Someone had them earlier.

I wondered how long before a video like this came out, its going to be interesting to see XP and Minelab going head tot head.

Before I get people thinking I'm a deus hater,I'm not.I use it a lot,and it's a great machine.I usually just run basic 1 and tweak my settings once in awhile, mostly I leave the remote at home and just use the lite version.
But I've run it enough to know what it's capable of,its downfalls and upside is.And I'm just saying, from what I saw in that video,it does everything the deus does, and some things the deus can't.

Until the machine is released and in hands of real people, they can try and blow all the smoke up peeps a$$e$ they want and all it will create is dust clouds !!!!! Too many people have been burned on first releases and all the hype that manufacturers spew out. I'll believes it when I seez it and only consider it once the machine proves itself. Good luck

If this thing is as good as the hype...
I just hope there is anything left after the DEUS for it to find....

I don't think it is crazy hype, at least not compared to the ATMax and that ilk.

I picture like a Xterra with the reactivity and Freq shift. I am fully confident Minelab is able to manufacture it, they are combining tried technology into one platform. At the very least they are worthy the benefit of the doubt IMO.

As mentioned before it will be interesting to see how the FBS works into this thing and is the FBS capable of having the reactivity or fundamental Freq shifted.

If they would have added the option of "Excalibur tones" I would have for sure bought one just to try it side by side with the Deus. Maybe I still will.
Actually I prefer the sound on the Minelabs, I think they sound nicer then any other brand, it's just that I think the more raw sounding on the Deus is a bit more useful.

EDIT: If I might add one thing I don't like, is them offering two different models of the Equniox, it just seems petty when manufactures do that.

I watched the video you posted and compared it to this video Minelab Equinox speed test! SO FAST!!! Is it just me or did the Deus do a little better with the iron bar?

This brings up a question I asked earlier, if you can have more reactivity then can be utilized, at what point is too much reactivity?

Jumping out of planes, well I call that hype. First gen MX Sport, CTX 3030, AT Pro ......... all had problems. I am not bashing Minelab or any other company, its just people run out and preorder stuff when there isn't a proper spec sheet or manual released yet. Details are just hear say and rather sketchy until now and I have learned my lessons over the years, so for me I don't jump after the first guy out of the plane, (irony) :surprised: especially without a parachute, thats all. If people want to be the first go for it, have fun Happy landings

Well you got me on the plane part lol.

I guess this means that Gary fellow has to go into a low earth orbit if XP decides to unveil a new machine?

Thank for the info, I seen them put the coin in the open hole and get it. If you can post the settings you were using to get that copper. flintstone

Deus was faster, sharper, but for a Minelab that was impressive. That said raise the coil 6 to 8 inches and try both again.

Gary, you also had 2 test holes at Detectival where the hf elliptical coil couldn't hit a small gold coin at 3" or 4" in 14khz.

I tried the same test as Sid did with the Equinox, £2 coin and the open hole, the Deus with 13" coil got much the same result, i covered the hole in and it was gone, though the soil was registering full on the Deus mineral scale when the coil was pumped.

Gary-B said:
At the Detectival XP had a test bed, one of the demonstrations was a copper coin buried at 16" not an open hole. The Deus located this target.
The soil at the rally did not appear to be highly mineralised only 2 bars on the Deus meter.

Deus doing same test with bigger thicker iron, coil isn't being completely covered width wise by the iron, using stock program Deus fast, with sens at 85.
I could have adjusted the Deus to given even better results, but using stock program anyone could easily try at home and see the vid wasn't rigged.

Equinox is game changer.
Them tests by iron down the barrel swing directions,,,,try that with Deus or CTX = No Go.

Your test not the same test done at detectival.
Notice the Deus tones with the coin on end,,tone heavily compromised.
Equinox sounded clearer not near as compromised.
Don' t think Minelab didn't do a study of .Deus when developing Deus.

Using Equinox,,in test at detectival, like the iron bar wasn't there,,iron tone practically nonexistent.
Btw gamechanger doesn't mean necessarily a detector does things not previously done,,but rather a detector model that can do like similar things for cheaper price.
Deus sale will definitely take a hit with Equinox.
Anyone who doesn't believe this is dreaming.
Other models sales will take hits too.

The waterproofing really put Equinox over the top, when tied to performance,,for the $$ they cost.
I'll bet also there is huge debate going on with Minelab as far as warranty period.
We'll,see..

Not the same test, but harder!
I'd say the Deus hit the coins clearly enough, put it in 2 tones alter a few settings and it would do better, but certainly not a "no go" as you say.
