New Fisher F-75 (a little info.)

engineer for some time, or did they simply give him (Fishers engineer) free reign to change the T2 over to what he thinks a Fisher should be?? If so, he sure works fast!
For the F-75 to hit the market this soon after the purchase of Fisher a lot of development work by someone has been going on for some time especially if it (the F-75) is as different from the T2 as you dealers are claiming.

Not trying to be rude, just trying to get the development time line straight.

PS: is it the same operating freq as the T2?????

that never crossed my mind but I see it now

whether you want to find it or notch it, the C$ does the job!

My best analogy to describe what I'm trying to get accross would go something like this:
Some people drive Harleys not to necessarily try to be cool or say "I got a Harley". They like the way it feels. They like what it stands for. They like it's history. It is definitely quite unique. There are other makes that are just as good, this is all arguable according to preferences, needs, etc. Now, if another manufacturer bought Harley and put out a much better bike (but in thier way better), not to the Harley users who want the feel of a Harley... see where I'm going? This is not a brand loyalty thing, it's more like I'm paying for this Fisher to get a Fisher, not something else even though it may be better than what we have right now. (Ok, in time I can see it evolving, but not the very next model).

This is very, very true. I worked in market research and sales for years. It's called Brand Image and Brand Identity and similar terms. It is exploited to the nth degree these days.

What do you think the operating frequency was on the T-2
and, this has been in development for more than 5 months to answer your question.
If FT knew the Fisher deal was underway that long ago, why the T2 with it's feature set?
My conjecture is the T2 design was viewed as intriguing but a risky departure from Fisher's usual products. Better to release it first under another label and see how it is accepted before adding it to the Fisher stable.
With it's model line price position, and feature set, it seems like they developed a product that competes against the C$. Why eat your young????
The F75 is priced higher than the C$, up in the Explorer/DFX range. It's also a multi-purpose detector that can also be used for prospecting unlike the C$.
That being the case, then the C$ should have been dropped from the line and the CZ-7's continued along with the T2/T3.
We don't know yet what Fisher will do with their product line. They made an annoucement a while back saying they would reveal their "new product lineup" in October or Novenmber. So, there may be some other changes in store.

I almost hate to even utter these words, but was this thing supposed to be a Tejon with a meter?
BarnacleBill
I think it's supposed to be more like a T2 with weak points fixed and new features and abilities added.

Hi Bill

I dont think we can improve on FT s marketing skills unless we prove them wrong( and we cant, the market holds many more buyers then experienced detectorists), the two latest FT fishers makes me certain that the company is a investment type brand that wants to sell and earn money way above making new technology available.

Minelab goes the same way with their SE, Owning the XS I really dont see it worth dropping money on it.

The tejon; Nothing I have tried can find me more hammered coins and it can not be improved with a meter ;-) Tesoro did it right with that one, the only thing is that people dont take the time to learn some of its language.

I would think they are operated as two separate companies under one parent company.

But I've gone ahead and bought a foil machine (DFX) to use for that but I'll give them both a good go. I know I've had the CS up for sale but I'm going to keep it. Didn't have to have the money after all and the wife quit fussing over it :)
