New Fisher F-75 (a little info.)

I got some more info tonight. Just gut off the phone....
I have been able to gather a little more on the 2 new Fishers from meeting notes...
Yes, there's 2. :twodetecting: There will be a middle priced unit as well called the "F-4". I don't have much on this one yet...
But, here are some more F-75 features (alot of this folks have either asked about today or been asking for on the T2)

F-75:
- "Superior Electronic Interference Reject" (Solves RF problems!)
- Saves last setting ("non-volatile Memory Save Setting")
- "All new" electronics
- "better & deeper" than the T2
- "Process Numbers"
- "Stat motion"
- Improved for gold prospecting

Sorry, I can not explain what things like "process numbers" & "STat motion" do yet (they were feature names off the LCD menu). Anyhow, the list of improvements over the T2 is getting longer. They listened + acted on suggestions. Seems "outside RF interference" was the #1 T2 complaint online, & apparently this was solved nicely on the new Fisher. Yes, expect a higher price of around $100 more retail with all this great stuff added. Yes, if all goes well, they have Mid-November as a target first shipping date. Hopefully a distributor or someone will have pictures soon...
(again that's all I can offer at this time)

"Stat motion" might mean no-motion as in a no-motion mode.
Have no clue what "Process numbers" might mean.

The "Improved for gold prospecting" means it's most likely a higher frequency machine like the T2 though it could still be dual freq.

Wow -- 2 new machines! That's a surprise.

If that last one catches on you will have to open an adult section in your store and expect a whole new clientele.

Hi Bill! You've done us all a favour with the sneak peek at the new F-75 and I would like to thank you for the information. We're all looking forward to seeing the release of the new detector and it sounds like a dandy.

Best Regards and Happy Hunting. :detecting:

Just specualting but process numbers might be like an aveaging of the VDI numbers some they are more stable.

etc. on the LCD. It looks really loaded with options. Looks like 5 menu settings for all metal side, & 6 possibilites for Disc side. I think it's a real sharp looking detector. I also like the new/old Fisher wings logo that is kinda modernized too....

I know nothing about the T2 so please forgive me if these questions sound redundant. Is the F75 a dual frequency detector or single? Also do the numeric numbers on the digital screen go along with the ID targeted like on the Whites xlt's.I remember anything 60 thru mid 80's was a coin.

in case the C$ needs help with it. Maybe this could be the one if the notches are right and it can hunt in my ground. The T2 really tried but so far the prize goes to the CoinStrike.

Hello all, I'm a happy T2 user but am sort of upset at First Texas / Fisher for calling that detector a Fisher. It looks nothing like a Fisher and everything like a T2. Understand, I was looking forward to the new Fisher, this is not about "pride" or "brand loyalty". But that is an enhanced T2 by all accounts.

or is it 51% Fisher design and technology inside and outside the hood?
Why not call it what it is?

In all fairness though, I don't know what's under the hood but considering the recent merger I really really doubt they incorporated allot (no where near 51%) of Fishers technology into the detector in such a short period of time.

I'll stay away from the Ferrari analogy and just say it's sort of like what they've done with some cars. They sell the model to another company and that aquiring company makes enhancements/relabels it, though I'm sure this one is allot more enhanced than the equivalent car in my example.

Let me end by saying I'm excited to try the new detector, just wondering why they are marketing it as a Fisher when it seems to have 90% of First Texas involved.

Hi,

It appears to me First Texas knew some time ago they were buying Fisher, with the intent of using the brand name to push higher end units. Frankly, the Bounty Hunter name is not associated with top end units. It may be unfair to some extent, but when I think of Bounty Hunter, I think of Walmart.

So you notice that when the T2 came out, First Texas distanced it from Bounty Hunter. They called it a Teknetics and gave it it's own website. I do not see the T2 on the Bounty Hunter website. And I'm not seeing the T2 at Walmart either.

Maybe First Texas is looking for a line of detectors that Walmart cannot carry, as I am sure Walmart hammer First Texas on the margins. And if I were First Texas, I'd want insurance, just in case Walmart finds a Chinese manufacturer to make their own Walmart brand detector, leaving Bounty Hunter out in the cold.

Under this scenario, the T2 really was a machine intended for Fisher, and I would not be surprised to se it folded into the new Fisher lineup. The T2 may become the F-4. And the F-75 is just the next step, using input derived from the elease of the T2. It also left whatever gripes there may be about the T2 isolated from the Fisher brand name.

This is all just conjecture on my part, butI hope it has some truth. It means First Texas intends to put the money into Fisher to position it to go head to head with Minelab on the Explorer and White's on the DFX. They certainly have the money, the engineers, and now a great brand name.

Steve is right earthmansurfer,

Steve, I was going to reply to earthmansurfer's post with a reply similar to yours when you beat me to the punch.....Looking at this from a business level, it's a great route First Texas and Fisher have taken. They are looking outside the box trying to stay one step ahead of competition, To set themselves up in a stronger position for the future.

Also, I can understand how some may be disappointed with the new detector coming in as a Fisher, What they fail to see is when First Texas acquired Fisher both companies became ONE in a sense.....So the technology from First Texas and Fisher have been incorporated together and if one had more to offer than the other, They are still ONE team sharing the same technology and ideas to better enhance the other.

Even though I have a Tekentics T-2 which is the best relic detector I've owned, It is not a BH type detector.....I see the new F-75 as a Fisher, Not as a BH or T-2 but it is a new Fisher model with improvements over the prototype T-2.

As you mentioned, First Texas kept the T-2 separate from the BH which is good for the business of First Texas/Fisher and now it'll be good for the hobby as well.

I don't care what name is on something -- I care if it works and is well made.

And, I don't care if a detector looks like another detector.

I just want to find goodies.

Nice post guys. It's nice to have another perspective. I am not arguing with what you have stated. I think you've mentioned some things great from a marketing perspective relating to my question.

Eddie, I stated this was not about brand loyalty, or brand fixation or whatever we may call it. We all want the best detector (or at least best detector for the money). I'm honestly not approaching this from an ego point of view, though I can understand that if 10 people read my post I'm pretty certain we will get 10 differing opinions (however slightly or vast they may be).

Steve:
I think it's a wise decision for FT to distance themselves from Bounty Hunter. Even though they make some nice detectors (I hear) the connection with Wall Mart and their earlier models is still "haunting" them today, at least with enough people to affect thier marketing.

I think what I'm talking about is the brand "Feel", not loyalty. Not that one is better than another but rather, people get attached to how certain detectors operate (ie. Minelabs swing slow, Fishers are built like a rock, T2 is super fast, DFX is super programmable, etc). And, (I'm projecting here) I can just imagine the long time Fisher user picking up this new Fisher and (though loving it's performance) feel that what they come to know as Fisher, is no longer. Maybe that will change (I bet it does with time) as it takes a while to combine technologies and designs...

My best analogy to describe what I'm trying to get accross would go something like this:
Some people drive Harleys not to necessarily try to be cool or say "I got a Harley". They like the way it feels. They like what it stands for. They like it's history. It is definitely quite unique. There are other makes that are just as good, this is all arguable according to preferences, needs, etc. Now, if another manufacturer bought Harley and put out a much better bike (but in thier way better), not to the Harley users who want the feel of a Harley... see where I'm going? This is not a brand loyalty thing, it's more like I'm paying for this Fisher to get a Fisher, not something else even though it may be better than what we have right now. (Ok, in time I can see it evolving, but not the very next model).

I'm trying to be neutral on this as far as us detectorists are concerned. My perspective was more in a marketing sense (brand recognition, not loyalty) sense. I'm glad no one attacked me (yet) as I'm definitely not trying to start anything... as we're all in the same family...

If FT knew the Fisher deal was underway that long ago, why the T2 with it's feature set? With it's model line price position, and feature set, it seems like they developed a product that competes against the C$. Why eat your young????

That being the case, then the C$ should have been dropped from the line and the CZ-7's continued along with the T2/T3.

I almost hate to even utter these words, but was this thing supposed to be a Tejon with a meter?

This is Fisher Technology, and remember a previous Fisher Engineer?
Now at First Texas!! Well he worked on this.
Don't be to quick to judge, till you see the real results, I do think you will be very happy with them.
