New detector in time for Spring????

It's hard to tell a novice that he's better off with a machine with 1 tone and no screen for the same money as one with those features. They won't understand.

Yes , I found out the hard way with the ace 250

But if I had been told about Tesoro compadre for less money I think I would have looked into the brand or at least googled Tesoro

If I could ever sell Tesoro detectors here I would "show" people how good they are

Funny how dealers that don't sell Tesoro cringe when the T word is spoken:lol:

Maybe you can:

Your dealership may be established through one of the following Tesoro Authorized Distributors. They offer a full range of vital dealer services and are ready to assist you by answering questions, setting up your dealership, and providing new dealer training. Please contact the Distributor of your choice.

Look at the Minelab site.....................they told their customers the name, the model, and they have photos of their new detector. Release date;mid 2014........................now that's what i call comunicating with their customers....excellent PR!!! But i am not a MInelab fan . Who is running the Tesoro PR Dept...............is it being run out of sombody's rec room???

The ML teaser rollout of the CTX was a bit much...
Not passing judgment on anyone's PR dept here,
But when was the last time a detector company openly asked for any customer input on a forum,
And then asked the customers to name the new detector?
We know a new Tesoro is coming.
We know its name.
We named it.
It's safe to say at least some of our suggestions will be implemented in the Caz, or Tesoro woulnot have asked us in the first place.
In my opinion Tesoro PR and customer service are just fine.

Whe n Tesoro has some news I'm sure we will hear it.

Just to be a pain in the.............

What do you do if the Distributor in Canada doesn't stock them?
Means you can't sell them if a customer comes in for one particular model that you don't have in stock.
As a dealer your going to try and make a sale by selling something else you do have in stock or the distributor doesn't
and it might not be a Tesoro. In that case probably quicker for the customer to order from the US, maybe cheaper too.
And being Tesoro isn't the most popular in Canada yet, folks are just getting around to taking notice, there's probably not a lot of stock sitting
on shelves tying up cash and profits. From what I see the biggest selling machines up here are White's, Minelab, Bounty Hunter and Garrett, then Fisher.
Many here are brand loyal to those brands. There's a heck of a good number up here that know the value of a Tesoro and how well they do work up here.
If you can get someone to try a Tesoro and get away from the bells and whistle ID machines for a day. You can hook them into buying Tesoro.

There's only one other guy in our club with a Tesoro, he bought it last year, a Lobo ST new grey model. He might succumb to local peer pressure and
change brands to a more popular metered brand. Hmm, wonder if he'll sell it cheap, that thought just popped into my head.

Here's something for the Canadian market, rework the Cazaodor with new decals with a Maple Leaf and call it Canadar.

I have no knowledge of the Canadian appetite for Tesoro's? I was just pointing out for cladcanada if he was seriously interested in selling Tesoro's may be an opportunity exists? If the Canadian Tesoro Distributor does not stock Tesoro's then they should not be a Tesoro Distributor and maybe a opportunity exists to be a Distributor lol. Nice photoshop

I did send our:canadaflag: distributor a request on setting up a dealer but got no response???

I will try again , but it sounds like they don't stock many ??

Part of me is happy that all most nobody in my area has a Tesoro(compadre) so I can't wait till the parks are used heavy.

Part of me is sad so many have to settle for what our local lone dealer is pedaling:rage: ( Garrett & Whites) . Every time I go out I get asked where can I get a detector like yours .

I think some people like the simple machines and are not scared off by price. =. Easy sale

At least I get to enjoy my first Tesoro and hopefully a few more:cheers:

I think of the very affordable and simple Compadre as bait on the hook, because if you try one you're hooked with Tesoro.

My dealer was shocked when I inquired about a Tejon a few months back. His words were along the lines of "I don't sell those anymore". When I asked whether or not he was telling me that he wasn't a Tesoro dealer anymore, he clarified and stated that no one wants them because for the same money you can get machines with a lot more features. He's not wrong. He mentioned that he's sold a few Outlaws, but that's about it for Tesoro.

The times they are a changin'... screens, tones, multi-frequency, waterproof etc. Maybe Tesoro's glory days are behind them now?? I have a feeling that only a few die-hards will appreciate the new machine coming out. Most will be hoping for an E-trac type machine and will be disappointed to find the new machine is just a tweaked version of something we've already seen. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because there is a tiny market for machines like that, but from a business perspective, it's not going to help them in the market.

Word on the street is that Fisher has something new coming out too, and there's buzz about dual frequencies. If Tesoro releases a same-old-same-old at the same time as we see a new F80, that's not going to be good for Tesoro!!

I don't agree that more features makes it a better detector, alot of us are more than happy with Tesoro's beep and dig models. It is nice to have choices and options but Tesoro can hang with anything in my opinion.

Ski, could not agree more:thumbup:

We know this. That is why Tesoro exists in a small niche market. However, component costs and labor keeps rising. Then there is R&D & advertising. Tesoro has to pay the same costs as the big boys. Do any of you remember the VHS/Beta tape wars in the 70's. Beta was a far superior product. It loaded faster. The picture quality was better. Enter JVC, with the VHS. They mounted a humongous advertising campaign and sunk the Beta tape into oblivion.
I'm not trying to be an alarmist here. If this new model has what I want, I will buy it. In my opinion, you are not 100% safe with ANY company; no matter the product. Look at some of the big ones; IBM - sold out their personal computer systems to Lenovo. Try to get customer service on your IBM computer now. I did. It's non-existent. NEC - pulled out of the U.S. They made the best color T.V's in their time. In the audio world, we have AudioPro (not ProAudio). They are a Swedish based company that made fine audio products through mid-90's. They pulled out of the U.S. They tried again for about two years around 2000, then gave up. They are still popular everywhere in the world but the U.S. Why? I talked to the marketing manager who said they couldn't compete with the demand for lower quality crap in the U.S. Then there is Minelab, who moved their manufacturing to Taiwan? Seems like the Minelab forum is loaded with complaints about customer service.
I worked for Zenith Radio Corporation. They were on the cutting edge with technology. I viewed holographic imagery from a compact disc TWO years before the first Star Wars movie came out and introduced the holographic imagery to the public. It was about TWELVE years after I viewed that C.D. before it was introduced to the public. Now Zenith exists in name only.
Point is that no company is safe, big or small. I will buy Tesoro because of the features, and the build quality. Personally the lifetime warranty (of the company) is only a selling point to me because the company is saying they stand behind their products. The only way they can do this is to build it right; to last. The only other company that catches my interest is Fisher. This is only because I need a light weight gold detector.
