Hombre said:I never cared for the old Fisher detectors and never owned a FTP Fisher, so I don't have any opinion on the newer ones. In the past I have owned the 1266 and the CZ5, they love to make noise in the iron, more for more open or less targeted hunting spots. I had one Fisher that was decent in the iron nails, the 1236X2 I used to have was pretty good at the small ferrous junk, probably should have kept it. I prefer the quiet ride of my Outlaw that wades through the nails with some spits and sputters, but no false signals on them. Tesoro just makes the best iron discriminator on the market and it does not need an iron audio feature because the broken audio is enought information for me.
It is a quiet peaceful relaxing ride. The Outlaw is in its environment when searching through a bed of nails for treasure.
