New detector in time for Spring????

Ivan

New member
Well in about 2 weeks we'll be into Spring.....................a good time to introduce a new detector...... how about it Tesoro?? Another thing that kind of surprised me. A dealer that i contacted, told me he is no lomger carrying Tesoro because nobody but the die hards even ask about it. He really shocked me when he said go to the Tesoro site and look under dealers...............for all of Canada ( a population of 32 million people) there are only 15 dealers....and of those only two have a website!!!! I asked him where have all the Tesoro dealers gone??? He simply said interest fuels demand..............and there is very little interest in Tesoro. This is why I can't understand why they won't put out their product? Why have a name contest if the detector is a year or two away from being produced.A bit of communication from Tesoro would be greatly appreciated..................am I out in left feild or does anyone else agree with me. What do you guys think? Thanks for your opinions.

I agree Ivan, don't see how it can possibly hurt to give us just a little info on what the Caz will be like... we know it will have tones, but will it be a 4 or 5 pin coil machine (HOT or uMax)? What kind of frequency will it have, will it use the 9 volt or the 8 AA battery pack for power? Will it be a coin shooter or a gold seeker or BOTH? Will it utilize Tesoro's great notching abilities? Will it have digital TID or will it have an analogue meter? Hopefully it will ground balance in all search modes and have both motion and no motion all-metal modes.

Well Tesoro... its March, and you began talking about a new machine last Fall, so how about some insight?

If there is an area Tesoro is weak...it's keeping their customer base informed. Saw the same thing with the sand shark connector debacle.

I need a gold detector. When I'm ready to prospect this year, I'm not waiting for Tesoro's new offering. Hell, it may not even be suited for nugget shooting. I had the Lobo. Great machine but why do I have to swing the control box in front of my hand? Even Minelab figured that out with the Eureka Gold. Sure, the Lobo is belt mount. That's just what I need, another cord to compliment my headphone cord! I did move my control box to under my forearm. That helped a lot but I have other complaints like that funky battery system, lack of manual ground control, weight AND who the hell came up with that English foxhound call when you turn it on??? Every time I turned it on, neighborhood dogs would howl, people BBQing outdoors would run inside to get their shotguns, police would show up, and that proverbial Numbnut you are trying to avoid would be alerted. You know, the one who has to ask, "hey dude, did you loose something?" Then stand there staring because his brain stopped functioning. In the boonies, I can start a cattle stampede. It scares the piss out of the aliens here in Northern Nevada. Okay, I exaggerate a little but it's starting to look like my next detector will be the Fisher Gold Bug

:cool:How hard would it be to update the website? It took forever to get a new products catalog and it has been years since the MDI magazine was updated. I am getting kind of "antsy" too. I am waiting on the Caz like everyone else but I am getting frustrated too. My dealer stopped selling Tesoros for the same reasons stated above. Little or no interest and bad communications between company to dealers and customers. This is sad and it doesn't have to be this way....:help:

This is just the Tesoro way, I think.
They don't seem to think their website and keeping it up to date is as important as some other companies, never really did, and even sending them an e-mail most find this seems to almost be an afterthought to those who run the company.
It is well known that you will get a much better, more informative and very fast response with an old fashioned phone call than any other way.
As far as earth shattering new technology that will probably never happen because they seem very satisfied doing things their way and making the same type of similar products they have always been known for.
This is their niche and they are comfortable there and even though many fans are aching for so much more many of us are very happy with what they already have and even are very happy and satisfied with some of the new configurations and models they do release...rare as that is.
As far as letting the cat out of the bag and putting out information on any new product before it is close to actually being sold on the market this is normal for all these detector companies.
Even ML with the CTX or Garrett with the ATX only hinted at pre-release information on how they worked for many months and not a whole lot pertinent info was really released before they were actually very close to selling them.
If you do that too early that will just kill sales on existing products, or the companies believe it will, anyway.
Tesoro will be the same.
When they are finally ready to tell us more about this new one than just the name you will be able to buy it pretty soon after.

Probably true statement but I also posted in another thread about the dealer here close to me that I get my things from quit handling Tesoro just for the fact of Supplier would not deliver due to low stocking problems through Tesoro . I still think the Caz is just going to be a revamped Golden

Tesoro is just like all the other metal detector companies you're not going to know jack about when and exactly what is going to be released until just before it happens, and all the whining and complaining is not going to change a thing. Maybe when the snow melts people will start doing more detecting and less whining.:detecting:

People will probably get out and do more detecting once the snow melts, but it sure wont be with the new Cazador will it? As a customer that spends their hard earned money on their products, it would be in their best interest to give at least some kind of information as to when we can expect something...not just a black hole of silence. No one is asking for exact details or even pictures...hell a clue or a hint would be sufficient...but as you said it isn't going to happen. That paired with their new warranty enforcement will make the tesoro's popularity that it once enjoyed....a thing of the past. oh well...not as big of a deal as it seems really.

Yeah, Tesoro is enforcing its lifetime warranty. That should go over like a lead balloon.

Tesoro would never disclose the new machine until they are ready to release.

If they did, the sale of similar machines in their current lineup would tank.

say I heard from a dealer up hear , and he says no one asked for tesoroes, but he as a dealer loves them , and of course me , but i think the new detectorist for some reason passes them by, this dealer says its the ace detectors that sell most, he can't move the 2500 dallar machines, in fact when i 1st got into this I was referred to whites as the best and i got an M-6 with all the bells & whistles, over time I began to figure out i just did not need all the bells & whistles and the weight was a problem for me so I eventually found my way to Tesoro, I can only say if tesoro made a detector that was as hot on high conductors as their machines are on Gold & brass that would be a great improvement. but tesoroes have a place for me , to badd they don't hire sven I think he would really help the tesoro s for the better , must be they are making the Caz machines in number now so when they come out they can meet the demands, we will see

When I spoke to Kellyco recently for information on a couple of detectors, I asked if they had any information on the new Tesoro release and her response was "oh we do not sell many metal detectors from that company" ? On the big auction site I noticed a T dealer unloading many Tesoro's claiming:

" Returned from customer, stated to never have used it.
Factory warranty and manual included!"

Most recent auction:

Used

TESORO DELEON METAL DETECTOR
Returned from customer, stated to never have used it.

Winning bid:US $357.00

Tesoro's Facebook Page has had a decline in posts the last couple months?

Maybe they are just super busy making the new model? And they are planing a totally new design?

My dealer was shocked when I inquired about a Tejon a few months back. His words were along the lines of "I don't sell those anymore". When I asked whether or not he was telling me that he wasn't a Tesoro dealer anymore, he clarified and stated that no one wants them because for the same money you can get machines with a lot more features. He's not wrong. He mentioned that he's sold a few Outlaws, but that's about it for Tesoro.

The times they are a changin'... screens, tones, multi-frequency, waterproof etc. Maybe Tesoro's glory days are behind them now?? I have a feeling that only a few die-hards will appreciate the new machine coming out. Most will be hoping for an E-trac type machine and will be disappointed to find the new machine is just a tweaked version of something we've already seen. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, because there is a tiny market for machines like that, but from a business perspective, it's not going to help them in the market.

Word on the street is that Fisher has something new coming out too, and there's buzz about dual frequencies. If Tesoro releases a same-old-same-old at the same time as we see a new F80, that's not going to be good for Tesoro!!

I never cared for the old Fisher detectors and never owned a FTP Fisher, so I don't have any opinion on the newer ones. In the past I have owned the 1266 and the CZ5, they love to make noise in the iron, more for more open or less targeted hunting spots. I had one Fisher that was decent in the iron nails, the 1236X2 I used to have was pretty good at the small ferrous junk, probably should have kept it. I prefer the quiet ride of my Outlaw that wades through the nails with some spits and sputters, but no false signals on them. Tesoro just makes the best iron discriminator on the market and it does not need an iron audio feature because the broken audio is enought information for me.

I'm not even sure anyone from Tesoro even looks at these posts. I say we all just call them, ya know "the old fashioned way" and tell em how we feel. I bet if we all called them and bugged them everyday, they would realize just how important to us these issues really are. Who pledges to give them a call? I will make the call tomorrow and express my concern nicely. Who will do the same? I bet if the powers that be within the company truly knew just how passionate some people are about their products, they would respond. Hell, I would hire someone full time to be on here collecting intel all day long!! But I wouldn't call him TesoroDude...

:super:I am all over an F80.....bring it....:super:

When is it going to be release and what are the changes over the F75SE? I haven't heard anything about it over in the Fisher Forum. Maybe you could start a whining tread over in the Fisher Forum and see if you can find out anything? I doubt you'll get any information about the F80 here in the Tesoro Forum. I'll watch for your thread.:)
