New Bounty Hunter models coming soon...

Kellyco/Brad, would love to see some pics and some more specs :)

First day back in the office in 5 days, I had a lot to catch up on. We have them all on display so I will definitely get some pics out to you guys. Any requests on certain pics or models first? Then well go from there.

Hi! I am sorry, I was busy first and then on vacation and then trying to catch my breath ...

Straker, yes, the new PRO series is based on the Eurotek platform. I am not sure what do you mean by "simply repackaged" haha! These units sure took some good effort. I think you will like the feature set.

Gravityrulz, yes. Same frequency. Not quite the same processes as the Eurotek. The features are very different. Greek coils with push-in connectors will work on BH PRO machines. Legacy BH coils will not.

Bugg, there is no new Platinum. However, this platform now operates at 7.69kHz.

Bucksport, I have received PMs before, that is weird .... and, well, I can't *officially* speak for FTP, Mike is the one and only in charge of that. So there is a few things I am not at liberty to discuss. But I can help here and there, and offer my very personal opinion on some stuff ... I tried PMing you and couldn't figure how to do it LOL I guess I really can't send PMs just yet. Someone knows how many posts I need? Oh well ...

I see Dave posting. All he said is of course correct, except the operating freq is now 7.69kHz. Used to be 7.81kHz, not any more. Coils are still compatible. I was looking through the Land Ranger Pro manual .... TX frequency is not there, is it? I guess we need to include it.

DetectingMO maybe I can help with that! Haha! =D

Ok you all, is getting late here in El Paso, see you all later and HH !!

Jorge, much appreciate the answers to a lot of the questions.
I am wondering why the decision was made to use the push in connectors if the coils will work on the Greek platform? Would that have been a marketing decision? I personally have nothing against the push in style, but that means I cant use the 11" coil that comes with the Land Ranger on my Eurotek Pro? I would have to make an adaptor, or change the inside connector.
Looking forward to trying one either way.

Well, there is not much I can say about that, because the decision was made at the upper levels.

They talked with Engineering, Cust. Service, Production, Procurement, Mkt, Sales, you know, everybody, and came out with the best specs they could.
Kinda hard to do, boy I wouldn't have liked to be in their shoes. Its quite a delicate balance.
And check them out, these machines do have some killer specs.

We run tests and made sure there would be no impact in any way to the end user experience, that I can say.
And, well, we did make them electrically compatible, so you can actually think of switching connectors or using adapters. Keep in mind some procedures will void your warranty though.

I haven't tested any of those cable adapters I saw around here the other day. If those work, you could be in for some savings in coils!
Do you guys have any reports or info on those? They sure look interesting.

** Edited for spelling, sorry ...

Fully understand Jorge. Business is business.

@DaveJ, "however some models use the push-on connector and others use the screw-on connector so when purchasing accessory coils you need to make sure you're getting the one with the right connector"

So, is it safe to say that 'all' the 'new' Bounty Hunter Models use 'push-on' coil connectors?

It's an important point for me since I own the G2 and am interested in the new 'high-end' BH model. Now if it uses push-on connectors I'll lose interest. For this MD'er these coils are expensive and adding the same coil twice to cover the two types just wouldn't fly.....

BTW, thanks for posting. I'm still patiently waiting for some user reviews (F19 also).....really like the new BH line, looks like great value to me....

I believe that even if the coil had the same connectors the low freq. machine and high freq. machines i.e G2 cannot be swapped because there designed operate within a narrow range?

Have a new Land Ranger Pro being shipped tomorrow. I now have a Discovery 3300. Will the coils from it work on the Pro since they are Push in?

My Fisher F5 is the older model with push on connectors. If I buy a LRP, can I use my 5" DD and 10" concentric on it?

From what I have read in the past about the F5 and Omega coils being interchangeable, the answer would be yes.

yes they are. Can you even buy a push 5" any more? They only have the 8", 10", and 11" listed as available. Mine is on my porch. Will be interesting to see how mix of fisher and tek ID works. Seems the iron is slightly expanded over fisher and the high conductors greatly expanded over both. Very narrow trash range of ID. Not sure what 25 vdi range above quarter is needed for. We shall see.

Wouldn't it be nice if the conductivity scaling on some of these machines was user selectable or upgradeable?

35 nickel, 52 zincoln, 63 cu lincoln, 65-66 clad dime, 75 quarter.

Performance equals ETP in fix gb coin/jewelry/artifact mode

2/3/4 tone modes slightly better than ETP due to gb. like sens 70 on Omega before threshold kicks in.

All metal has ID and notch display.

Solid ID. Great ETP/Omega hybrid.

ETP tones with added medium in 4 program.

barely hits 6" buried dime on sens 7. almost zero emi

Will the push in connector coils from the Discovery 3300 and other models of Bounty Hunters work on the Land Ranger Pro?

probably but with hindered performance/id. I can test my 8" tracker 4 coil tomorrow.

once upon a time I tested 4" on a delta and it worked but depth was less with bad ID.

As expected it "works" but is seriously hindered. about 1/3 detection depth of 2-3".

Here is a chart for coil compatibility. It shows the new detectors and coil codes.

http://detecting.com/coil-table.html

Eurotek (regular), new BH pro models, platinum, gold, old fisher f5, old tek delta all use push style 7.69-7.81kHz coils

Eurotek Pro, BH Titanium camo, Tek Greeks, Fisher F5, Fisher F19, Gold bug pro, and G2 all us the screw on style 7.69-7.81/19.2kHz coils

with proper adapters or custom modification any of these crazy amount of coils would work.

The ones that work with crappy performance would be tradition BH line ~6khz coils that are also on early versions of F2
Also with adapter, F2/F4/F70/75

I'm sure I missed a few.

On a positive note. Recovery is lightening fast just like its fisher/tek ancestors. It's like taking a great relic/jewelry machine in the ETP and turning it into a great park/coin machine. Mode 3 in disc is exactly like ETP with ground balance with a conductive are/notch display if you don't notch or vbreak. Well, with a completely different unique ID scale. Aluminum/tab/trash is shrank to 10 vdi range (40-49) and 5 is added to iron and 5 above quarter comparted to fisher. This pushes nickels up 5 and quarters down 5.

Air test same as Omega at 70 sens (max). One inch less than Omega 99 (max threshold).

9" on dime, 10" on nickel, 11" on a quarter mode 4 (4 tone) 0 disc

All metal is up to an inch more but with no ID. With ID about the same but the ID in AM is similar to the Delta/Omega in that it's very "loose" but you get a good feel for where it's hitting. Disc mode ID is very tight like one would expect for FTP.

there is no backlight or Fetone. I suspect this was dropped and will show up on the fisher F44 version of this machine with the better coil connector and thicker cable at MAP $499 price tag in the near future (speculation)
