I posted this message down below but I wanted to make sure you got to see it. I responded to a post by John in Virgina posting as George(SC). I should have realized it was a proxy post but it took me until today to track him.
Here is my response to a message from Ralph.

Think about it this way....
George (alias John) said he drove two hours to get a look at the new machines. He says the dealer talked him into an X-5 based on the facts that the new Tesoros are all hype and the two guys talking about them are shysters.
Tell you what I would do. I would not make a phone call..I would drive down to that dealer and make sure he never sold one of my products again. I would then jerk the sponsorship of this forum that allowed that message to stay up.
I would bet that process is already underway..nice job John...the Guvner really is gonna love you.....
Of course I know now that George is not George. He is John a dealer for Troy. Now John I have went and spent all this energy defending myself against a Shadow dealer in Virginia? Boy you sure had me going. That was a good one. Please say hello to Troy when you call him. Ya'll really had me going....Ya'll need to stop proxy posting. It is it is much easier to catch you now.

Ya'll take care..I did hunt this weekend and had some very candid thoughts about the new Cibola. It's over there if you want to read it. I apologize for lumping you all in with John and his ilk. I do miss the good times over here and still consider the Guvner a friend.
These forums need to be in control of one person who monitors all the sites. Use dealers to monitor and you wind up with what this site has become. A hate TR..talk about anything but Tesoro forum. Why should the dealer care..He'll sell em anything they ask for. but I bet Tesoro cares.....

I take most of the posts with a grain of salt, and I dont put any stock in peoples opinions unless I've seen them post for a while, and they make good points. Like George/John, I hadn't seen many of your posts until the V/C came out, so like George/John, I dont put much stock in what you say until I see that you can intellegently post your opinions for more than a month. Dont take it personal... I just tend to follow the "show me" attitude. As for a "A hate TR..talk about anything but Tesoro forum"...just scroll down a bit before the V/C came out, and I think that you'll find that quite a few people come here to ask questions about different Tesoros (other than just the Tejon), and are usually answered with a positive comment.

I frequently read the posts on the other forum and have for years and dont recall seeing "the mayor" before the c/v's came out. Coincidence? Maybe. Maybe I just didnt see you in the past but you sure as hell cant miss you talking about the new machines. I am sure they are fantastic machines because Tesoro is a great company but EVERY machine that has ever come out will ALWAYS be said to be the best. I will be buying a cibola soon myself. I dont expect it to live up to the unbelievable things being said but im sure it is a nice detector!

You must be a newbie to the forums. Been posting since before the TD was around..and helped get these forums cranked up whenever Gary (The Guvner) got them up and running. Don't really care much what you think but I do think the Guvner might care...if he loses Tesoros sponsorship. Proxy posting has been going on for about seven years on these forums. I appreciate a good advertising and marketing program but to stoop to the levels some has....
So believe what you want...I will post about machines I like on the proper forums and that is that.
And you know what? I ain't never heard of a Rentasquid either. so we are even...

And whats wrong about a dealer recommending a detector to a customer.An X5 can be the right detector for somebody depending what he likes to do with it.
Because you guys don't like Troy dosn't make the detector bad.
I like the Vaquero for some reasons but if somebody likes the X5...OK with me.

now I can see you are actually a jerk! You are right, I am a newbie in your world, but I've still been reading these forums for the past 3 years and havent seen your name until about a month ago. Why do you like to come in and just start stirring up crap? If Gary doesnt like proxy posting, then let Gary do something about it. Or e-mail him directly.

That was not a dealer recommending an X-5. That was John in Virginia posting a fictitous story. C'mon man you have to see that at least. Don't let the proxy posters make fools of us any more. They are the one with the agenda. I like the new detectors. Was absent from the forums for about a year. Changed horses once I came back for reasons already explained. Have not posted anuthing I do not believe to be true. Contrary to John who posted an outright fabrication. Why am I the bad guy? Don't let them pull the wool over your eyes any longer. Now think about what I just said before you post. I will call you personally to discuss this or detectors if you want. Just shoot me an e-mail at rhyer@gulfsupply.com. Okay, if John/George is proxy posting as you claim to have "proven", and the trip to the dealer and purchase of an X5 was all a fabrication, simply lay your cards on the table and bust his chops.
Show us the proof.
It's just as simple as that.
 
I don't know George(SC) from deputy dog but most, if not all, America Online (AOL) servers are proxies. That means an AOL user who posts on the forums will have an IP address that has "proxy" in the string. While there are many proxies always available AOL proxies that can be accessed by anyone that's not an AOL user are scarcer than hens teeth. I don't know if George is really George, but it's almost 100% certain the posts he made below were made from an AOL account. You're getting as paranoid as TR, and I don't hate him. Don't know him, just don't have much use for him based on his shenanigens, and "overly zealous" claims about certain detectors, since he's been on the internet. I've been on the forums (forum singular at first as Tnet was the only one until Andy Sabisch started his OnlineTh'ers forums a couple of months later) since the second week of January, 1995. I remember when you first started posting there, sometime in 1997 I believe, also when TR showed up. There's nothing wrong with the way Gary runs his forums, at least someone can make an objective post without it being deleted. That can't be said about the TD and Troy forums. Gary had this forum here well before Tesoro started sponsoring it, and from the events that happened and posts that were being made it's very possible that Jack started sponsoring it because of what was being posted on the TD Tesoro forum. As for talking about other brands, any manufacturer than prohibits comparisons between his product and other brands doesn't have much confidence in his product, and if he doesn't have enough confidence to allow comparisons why should we have enough confidence in the product to buy it?

That dealer was plenty fair to Tesoro and all others he represented. And most of all he was fair to me, his customer. Have you ever heard of the word multi line dealer?? I do realize that you hate detector dealers for whatever reason that might be.
I am George, a detector user for over twenty years, thats it dude, just plain old George who only wanted some information. I rarely comes onto the forums...but have in the past if you do some searching. I post responsible stuff when I am on a forum. I only wanted good information to buy a detector, I got caught up in all the drama (My Bad) and then went to a dealer to check out several machines. My findings were then deleted on that other forum of your choice. That is what brought me here, but I STILL was not going to mention the name of what I bought. The guys here asked me to, so I did.
And now I am John from Virginia and some place else. I'll tell ya this, Freud was born way soon. He would have had a circus trying to figure you out <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol"> <img src="/metal/html/lol.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":lol">
Bottom line is I have spent some money on a machine I liked. I have had many tesoro's in the past and most likely will buy another in the future. I have become weary of you whoever you are who has no name. If the Giffords should want to fume in anyone's direction, it will most likely be yours and some others who are making a three ring circus out of their products. You guys have contradicted each other so many times over there and have every Tesoro machine obsolete except the V & C. But then there is one hold out who swears the Tejon has the V & C outdated. The same person who was digging foot plus deep buttons with any machine he touted for several years now. Only the names change.
I have given you more of my time than I had planned on. I only wanted some information on a machine to buy cause I was in the market for one. The BS from you and others is what led me to the very product you were barbing. Imagine that!! Bye and don't forget to read the link which is my original post.
