Hi all;
Been lurking on the V3i site for awhile now. I've only posted a few times on the vintage section of this forum. I'll be buying a new V3i in the next couple of days
and making a few calls to dealers to see what kind of deals I can make (yes I'll be calling the advertisers on this site and others).
I've been MD'ing for a long time, built my own TR MD back in 1975 from plans in a Radio and Electronics magazine. That old girl found some good stuff back then!
The XL Pro I'm now using is a good machine but has always been somewhat limited in the choice of search coils so it's time to upgrade and would like some opinions
from you guys on some options to go with the new detector.
I'm thinking that along with the standard 10dd coil I'd go with either the Whites 6x9 dd or the 6x8 sef and also the 5.3 whites eclipse to start. Eventually the little whites
shooter coil and 950 could be added. I like the 5.3 coil as it has been very effective in the 5.3 bullseye coil on my XL Pro and I need at least one concentric in my arsenal
to start (opinions welcomed here).
I think it will be interesting to see how the V3i does in areas I've already hunted heavily. I can already tell that with the V3i I will be using the stereo mixed mode the most.
I'm primarily a coin and jewelry hunter but hunt any place where I may find the old stuff. Now if just the snow here in the northeast would melt!
