Although im not as old as some on here with everything going on I don’t even buy green bananas anymore.
Because of the “supply chain” issues i have been waiting for a air bag modulator for my car, last September was a year. Same thing few trickle in and down to those in line. Must be alot of people who need an air bag modulator . Come to find out the issue is in this internet age some dealers who actually have them are hoarding them and going out to the highest bidders.
My dealer has been trying to get one for the price they told me but they have doubled in price since.
My kid just went down to the local best buy and got a playstation 5. I don’t know where you are but may want to try ordering one online. Walmart also has them.

They probably want me to buy a new car instead but the trade in value drops dramatically with no airbags.the corporation used to call me monthly to update me then stopped.
Its been so long some of the people are no longer there and they figured i just gave up and got a different car.
There are two schools of thought I guess, some get to a point in life where its not worth spending alot of money, for example better to lease than buy or keep what you have and then there is spend it while you can, go all out on the best, take out that home equity at 80, live like there is no tomorrow lol.
Some live better to have a and not need it than need it and not have it.

But changing all fluids belts spark plugs brake fluid transmission fluid and your car will last a long time I know you can get a whole steering wheel on eBay with or without airbag

The dash needs to come apart and it needs to be programmed and only the dealers have the computer programming.
My friend/mechanic who normally does everything could only diagnose it.
The labor is actually more than the part and last I checked a year ago the part alone was $500.

I think safety items like airbags are covered under a limited lifetime warranty you may want to check.

They said not covered under the extended warranty but have to look into the limited lifetime warranty if it has one.
Never heard of a limited lifetime warranty on a car but worth looking into

A bit off-topic but there are many OBD2 bi-directional scanners in the sub $500 range available to program modern airbag systems. I own an Xtool D8 that allows me to program and turn off dashboard airbag lights on many (not all) modern vehicles.

Have to look into couple more things but my buddy actually owns a big shop even has the maintenance contract for the post office vehicles and has alot of equipment and even he cannot do it.
I was told by many it was a dealer only thing. In part was liability reasons

I wish they would hurry up so I can hear more feedback! Originally I was leaning D2, and still kind of am, but I gots to know! Lol… Really it means the money I’m about to get is already burning a hole in my pocket! And the Eqx 900 might be good if I hadn’t done so many upgrades to my 800…decisions!

Want to get one more detector, a minelab since i always had 3-5 detectors at a time usually tesoro and minelab. Stopped for a while sold everything now that im back only going to have 2 one being a minelab. Tesoro no longer around.
I couldn’t get myself to get one on the first purchase and now they have three new to choose from. Seems the 700/900 is the best choice still but taking them forever to roll out the MC to compare for sure. The xterra pro doesn’t look so promising and the 600/800 are definitely out.
Some people just get them all, must really have money burning a hole in their pockets lol.

My hesitation on the MC is based on how it acts in iron. I’ve seen a lot indicating it struggles, and some videos where it doesn’t seem to. Obviously very site specific.. But the D2 is wireless and I’ve always missed that about my original Deus that I sold after getting 800. AND it apparently is much more watertight (and depth rated) than most of the 800’s turned out to be. Maybe the new batch is better, probably is, but still a concern.

The waterproof issues is why I didn’t get the 800. Originally looked at the vanquish but but wasn’t enough so chose the legend over the 800. Price was also a big factor. Glad i did its a great detector. Always had a minelab so figure one more but not getting rid of the legend. Kind of best of both worlds thing lol.

I really think the iron problem is sensitivity related but i don't own one. Stuck with the 800 + coiltek 10x5, not a bad place for the foreseeable future.

Yes I just got the Coiltek 10x5 and love it so far, but haven’t really put it to much of a test. If I decide not to upgrade, I will get the 15 inch coil. I originally did have the minelab 15 inch coil but found it I didn’t really use it very much and sold it. However, since the time that I had that I have realized that I actually do have a need for it, and so here we go again lol.
