Thanks for the reply. I got a 900 when they came out in Dec.of 22. Used it for about a year. Around 75 hunts. My main gripe was I didn't seem to be hitting any deep targets. Other 900 owners report no problems with deep targets. I bought an 800 when they came out in 2018 so I'm no stranger to the Equinox. With the 6 in. coil on the 800 I had no problems with 7-8 in. coins. I can remember a couple old silver dimes as deep as 10+ inches. I bought a Legend in Sept. of 23 and with the 6x9 coil on it, no problem hitting 7-8 inch clad, and had a few surprisingly deeper coins. I had the 900 listed for sale but when I heard about the update I decided to give it another try. Not very impressed, still very unstable IMO. It does a great job of unmasking and clobbers the coins but TID is all over the place and also a lot of falsing and still nothing deep.. For those that wonder I usually run sensitivity around 22 and where I hunt EMI is rarely a problem. Also the latest update on the Legend 1.17 , doesn't seem to hit as deep as it did with 1.15. Keep in mind I hunt the same areas, with the same settings. And have gone over them with the 900 and Legend before and after updates.
Anyway thanks for your input, I may give the Manticore a try. I wonder if its eligible for the veterans discount while on sale.
