Looks like AT Pro equals the T2 and F75....

I saw all the video's from Pyledriver and read all John"s post reguarding depth test, so I did a search on Youtube for "air test with F75" and "T2". I saw a few and in disc mode's results are the same.

The F75/T2's beat the AT only in all metal mode but only by an inch.

A Minelab Safari beat all of them only by an inch/half - 2 inches.

These were all air test....stock coils.

Results to me? Well the AT PRO equaling the T2 and F75 is awesome results to me because those are $1000 plus machines.

Only difference? The AT PRO doesnt have an all metal mode....BUT it has Pro Mode, which is close, per the design Garrett has in that maode.

There ya go...

utilizing "alien technology" which is relatively free and then you can pass on the savings to the customer. ;) Folks can think whatever they want but I prefer to not "arrive" at any conclusions until I use and learn all the detectors that I'm comparing. Just curious,....how many of the four detectors that you've mentioned have you used personally?

I made it clear in my post these results came from watching videos and reading....sorry you cant read well. They have online courses you can take to help.....:lmfao::rofl::yo:

Very doubtful:goodnight:

and did so with your post. I just wanted to see if you actually had any additional basis for what you were saying. Obviously, some folks on the forum speak from personal experience and others from conjecture.

I Googled it & got references to T-shirts, Oswald, aliens, companies. corporate bios etc. Did I miss something? What's the relationship with the AT Pro?

As I'm sure you remember, that term was being thrown around on this forum quite a bit soon after the announcement of the AT. I believe the classic definition of the term basically infers outside sourced technology that can be reapplied. Barring equal or higher "reverse engineering" costs, it's a way to arrive at new improvements at a lower cost.

Air testing a metal detector is like jacking the drive wheels of a car off of the ground and then getting in and pegging the speedometer and then saying jee my car can go 130 mph. Sure it can when it isn't pulling its own weight. Now I am not saying that air testing is completely worthless as it is usefull for learning how the machine responds to different types of targets (what sounds it makes and what target ID it shows) but the depth it shows doesn't test the most important parts of the detector design. Namely the ground filtering, the signal to noise ratio, the response time, the recovery time, etc.

Did you know that when you sweep a T2 or a F75 across the surface of a coin that it will beep 15+ times just across that one coin. It rings up the coin, resets for the next target, beeps the coin again, resets again, 15+ times just across a single coin. It does this so fast that it just sounds like a single beep to your ears. The reason this is useful isn't when the coil is over the coin, but when it leaves the coin and gets ready for the next target. In other words it has an awesome response and recovery time. It also has really top notch ground filtering so you can run up the sensitivity really high and the machine won't get too unstable. Did you know that the T2 and F75 are designed so that as you increase sensitivity, you get better target separation? Every other detector I have owned has the opposite reaction, the higher you set the sensitivity the worse the target separation gets. That is an amazing achievement by the designers of these machines (Dave Johnson and John Gardiner). I could go on about what makes these machines such good metal detectors but enough said already to make my point about the futility of air tests in showing how a detector stacks up against another one.

Those air tests don't test any of these features and to me those are the features that separate the T2 and F75 from a lot of other detectors and make them worth the money they cost. Now the AT PRO might equal these detectors in these important features but air tests will never tell you that one way or the other.

Edits to correct grammar errors

I think it will be closer to these detectors than you will want to believe only a lot cheaper. The folks at first Texas are not going to be happy. Now you can buy as good or better detector for a lot less. Also did you know it is waterproof. Hope to get mine today come on brown truck.

Yeh, I'm not knocking the T2 or F75, I know those are good detectors for sure...just noticed the air test were equal to the AT PRO.

The AT PRO in Pro mode also has a fast recovery speed.

TRUE value is good for everyone. Relative and or perceived value should be examined further by everyone.... JMO.

Air tests are worthless indicators of how machines will do in the ground !!

I don't agree. My experience has been that an air test is a good indicator of a detectors POSSIBLE depth ability. Of course ground conditions determine the final depth, but you can get a basic idea from an air test. I've done air tests on every detector I've ever owned and WITHOUT exception, an air test gave a general indication of the depth you might expect in the ground. Of course I do have fairly mild soil, but never the less, it was accurate enough that I could estimate fairly closely what to expect in the ground from an air test.

An air test is simply a best case scenario. Only under very special condition will you ever get better depth in the ground than in the air.

Well said Southwind! I test all machines I come accross in the air for depth basis. I had a bounty hunter along time ago and I had found a 1/4 gold nugget with my GTI 2500 in Georgia. I tested in air test with this nugget on the bounty hunter and it would only get it at an 2"....in air! My GTI 2500 would hit it at 9 inches in air. Found it at 5". Air test result? Dont use the Bounty hunter for nugget hunting...duh.

Air test are nessesary I believe. And from my experience you can subtract 20-35% depth from air test when in real dirt due to the minerals. Buckhead Brad apparently doesnt get it as his detecting ego is too proud.
The ole "God's gift to metal detecting" mental imparment is abound.

Only of you dont know what your doing with air test...

I feel that the T2 or F75 will get better depth of a metal object. I'm expecting to get a more reliable VDI at a greater depth on the Pro and that's important to me.
I'm a coin hunter. I have owned a T2 and am expecting my Pro today.
