Let us all ask Minelab to make the Equinox series Firmware upgradable

Lol...Minelab has already provided a top of the line machine that has the ability to be updated, but, never offered an update. What makes you think they will provide updates on a machine 1/3 the cost of the CTX Just thinking out loud

I believe the CTX was given 2 updates, one was shortly after release in 2012 as I recall. I also recall lots of update ideas put forth by users that were never acted on. There were never any show stopper problems for me when I used it.

I bought an Etrac having first heard about it when it had shipped! I put in my order immediately and as I recall the wait wasn't that long and I'm in Canada. I never had an issue with till the day I sold it (after I bought the CTX).

Minelab is a very deceitful company
and failed their loyal customers with
the production of a high cost machine
that FAILED on many customers with
their cheap parts and Leakers. As far
as the Equinox goes, Good luck on Minelab's
new Dream machine. I'll say one thing Minelab's
good at is Promoting Hype for those that
think they OWN the Best!!!

Seems to me that the hype promoters are the ones using ML's, not the company. I don't own an ML anymore. Got too heavy for me. And too expensive. Maybe the Equinox will change that. I presently own an Equinox (not the detector).

NO. Dont make it upgradable. I want it no more expensive than it is going to be.
The high end models well thats another story but i dont need that on them either.

Hey, look at that, MORE information has arrived and the detector software can be updated via USB port AND it's supported on MAC OSX. I'm . . . . . stunned.

Anybody else get the sense that Minelab is carefully crossing the t's and dotting the 'i's on this?

cant believe it ...I sent a mess. directly to them once saying please make it up gradable also.....just nice to have that in the future if needed is all...peace of mind...thank you minelab..

amazingly, I actually think the Minelab execs really are listening to our wants/needs/complaints!

Hell, maybe there will be an update for the CTX after the EQ release. Anythings possible now.

No, there was a direct response from a minelab rep that said it would NOT be upgrade-able.

NO I had a lady working for Minelab tell me NO to it being upgradable by USB.
Actually just looked I still had the EMAIL:

Thank you for your inquiry. At this time, the machine will not be upgradeable. This may or may not change once we get closer to the final product.

If you read the brochure toward the end it says YES it is via use port.....hopefully they stick with that..

Regardless, at Detectival Brandon and the other ML tech explained that it would be upgradeable. If you weren't watching the videos with a magnifying glass like I did, you could of missed it

We definitely want it upgradable.. The scant updates issued for the CTX resolved a couple issues. Similar thing may arise with the Equinox.

Of course I am going to be realistic and not expect anything more than updates that address issues rather than enhancements. I am not going to let Minelab fool me twice...
