Ksdirt said:I gave him my etrac with extra coils ,rods ,etc...which was in mint condition......He took it on trade for when it comes out...that's how much I want an Equinox plus some cash..one of the coils was the 13" altimate .....I think this should cover it...
Ksdirt said:I'm not saying it has to be upgraded but if it does I would like to be able to....even if it's a year from now...but if you can't update it what do you do ..buy another perhaps Equinox II...

I wanted to preorder an Equinox 800 ,but after reading you can not upgrade the firmware at home over the internet, I am not going to order one and will wait till all the software bugs are repaired even if I have to wait six month or longer. If Minelab would change this before they bring out the new Equinox series, I would buy one right away.
I thought Minelab said during their Equinox introduction that they heard us and made the Equinox to our specifications, Minelab we are asking you now to make the Equinox series firmware upgradable from our homes and put your money where your mouth is!!!!!!! We want the Equinox firmware upgradable before you bring it on the market at the end of December or in January and bring a perfect unit on the market, you still have enough time left!
Whitbey, I held up on a previous ALL WEATHER DETECTOR purchase about 18 months ago because of troubles during the launch of the detector. Looking back, I am glad I waited. If you have concerns and misgivings about the Equinox faltering out of the gate, you should wait. Don't feel pressured because of the enthusiasm of others. If the Equinox doesn't check off the boxes that you want, don't buy it. There are other detectors out there that are very capable and I know of one that can be updated that has a very large following. Of course, it does cost quite a bit more . . . . . . . . .

I must really have pulled some strings of yours and getting you in the defence for Minelab. You must be a Minelab dealer or work for Minelab or be a share holder of the company!
I LOVE THIS COUNTRY, where we have FREE SPEECH for everybody!!! . Did 3 tours in Irak for my country and never I have seen a Minelab in the field saving the lives of us Marines.
"MAKE THIS COUNTRY GREAT AGAIN. " AND BUY AMERICAN, Garrett, Fisher, Whites the way to go, and maybe an Aussie machine as back up!!!
PROUD TO BE AMERICAN AND TO HAVE SERVED MY COUNTRY!!!!!!
P.S. I LOVE FREE SPEECH and thank you for your comments Tyber0z!!
Whitbey said:As for minelabs in Iraq , cant comment on that . They do make Mine detectors but maybe the Countries that have them didn't go there ? Garrett makes them too but dont know about the other makes.
Budget might play into which type they have or preference ? or maybe trade deals .
