Indian Head and Gold?

I completed searching the creek beds and am now hunting the hills.Finding some pennies but the nickles and dimes are eluding me. Pictured is a penny so corroded that I dont even know what kind it is. There are two from 1919 , a 1912D. 1942, 1908 Indian head and get this . My second 1914D in three weeks. This one is not as nice as the first.
Now for the metal ingot.I got a strong signal underneath a large root , 5 to 6 inches in diameter, right next to an old large tree. I dug it out, it was almost like someone hid it there . Im guessing it is lead. Maybe civil war issued to make bullets. Or is it silver? Could a silver ingot look like this after it spent 100 years underground? When I pulled it out all I immediately thought of stolen stash. It has no markings at all. The 1914 D penny was on the other side of the tree. Its pretty toasted. An underground spring runs through there and I guess the lime rich water is responsible . But the ingot is not corroded just has a funny patina. Its probably lead but Im gonna have someone check it out.

Found only 1 coin this morning but it was a heart stopper. My oldest coin to date. I think its an 1851 the last digit is hard to make out. Found a few mushrooms and a pixies spoon?

I had the bar tested today and it was negative for silver. The antique dealer was pretty excited over it. He thought it looked good.

Just found 1 coin this morning. they are getting harder to come by but they are old. This one an 1875 Indian Head. Its in pretty good shape has some stubborn dirt onit. Im going to soak it in water. I dont know what else to do. how do you get dirt off of coins?

I have good luck soaking the coin in hydrogen peroxide for a few minutes at a time until it looks good.
First, heat the peroxide in a small plastic container for about 30 seconds and then drop the coin in it.
It will start to fizz and I usually check it every couple of minutes or so.
I usually rinse it each time with water and a toothbrush to see if the crud is loose, so I don't have to keep soaking it.
Yours looks like it is good shape except for a couple of spots and it shouldn't take much to get it cleaned up.
I like to get mine to where the dirt is mostly gone, but some of the patina is still left.. this seems to retain more detail this way.
Good luck,
Felix

DO NOT DO THE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE"" When i did this it will not leave any mark of the coin. Looks like a round slug. Just soak it in soap and water, and let it go or you will have nothing left.

I really didnt mean to bump this old post up. I was just going over it and somehow bumped it.

you really hit the hot spot that 1877CC is nice along with the other things amazing
