When I started detecting in 69, I was a lone hunter as there were hardly any others in my area detecting then that I really cared to hunt with. I hunted that way for years, mostly in the rural, backwoods, isolated areas. Gradually, I met others, and introduced some others to detecting and we formed some lasting friendships. For me, those friendships are the biggest treasure I could have ever found. We pool our resources, research, finds, and concerns for one another and in general just have a great time, not just when hunting together but by staying in touch between hunts. Having hunting buddies is really necessary for everyone now, especially us older dudes, and it is just a whole lot more fun with your buddies. Oh Yeah, for sure, you are right about becoming addicted to detecting and never knowing what to expect to find. Same thing applies to some of the "situations" that sometimes occur while detecting too, Another good reason to have some buddies close at hand. HH, Charlie
