I see a lot of talk....

It very well COULD be. I have not had ANY problems with any of my aftermarket coils. Particularly the Excel 4.5 x 7 and 10 x 14 coils. The SE is a DREAM with these coils. I have long said that the stock 10.5" coil is too sensitive. It WILL work reliably and stably but must be cranked DOWN on the gain and sensitivity to do so. So that begs the question...is the stock coil too sensitive or are the aftermarket coils just LESS sensitive? Or are they shielded better? Or do they WORK better with the SE, requiring less sensitivity to achieve the same result? Bottom line, I think folks using the stock coil that are concerned with "tweaky" operation would do well to TURN THE BITCH DOWN! It will still get GREAT DEPTH at manual 18. Many have NEVER tried it. I have. In a test garden situation. The reults are conclusive.

My opinion.
