I hear Bounty Hunter Bought Fisher ???????

that has come and gone. Now, I can't speak for the Edge, aint used one yet, but the Excel aint no slouch either.

but when I find one that I really like, I try to hold onto it. I guess that's what is fun about the hobby to some of us rather then to others. Like my wife, she could use the same detector for the rest of her life, but I would rather mix it up and use something different every now and again. I guess that's why shes better at this than I am hahahahahahahah. BUT, I'm quickly coming to the realization that a detector no matter what brand or bells or whistles isn't a magic wand that will make nice finds pop out of the ground. Just like it won't change my luck either.

So then I think, well, I will just stick with what I got and the heck with any of that new stuff coming out, but right after that feeling left me, I bought a Xterra 70 hahahahahahaha go figure.

So I wouldn't go raggin on Sonny to much, most of us are or have been guilty of this.

Agree to Disagree... yep, we're in agreement in that respect.

Matter of FACT, I heard that Bounty Hunter has purchased Fisher... not just a rumor.

I didn't even mention the FT buyout of Fisher. That's been passing around as FACT (not sure if those caps make it more of a fact or not ) from "inside sources" for some time now. I was questioning your apparent statement about the 3 "Digi-Fishers" being no big deal. I think they're all a worthy accomplishment and as we can deduce now, the Edge seems to be an improved direct line extension of the C$.

Hi Bill,

After reading your review two months ago in Eastern/Western treasure mag, I purcahsed the new ID Edge, after previoulsy owining the CZ 5, CZ 70 Pro, and Coinstrike. By far, the ID Edge is my favorite detector and the only detector that I am using. Since purchasing the ID Edge this past March 06, I have made some really good finds. I live in N. Virginia so I primarily relic hunt and have pulled two Union General service buttons ( 1 cuff) and over 40 dropped bullets in the last month plus an 1862 Indian head cent at 2 heavily pounded union encampments.

I dig all signals when relic hunting so I don't mind digging a lot of trash due to the fact that my good finds to bad finds ratio has dramatically improved since purcahsing the ID Edge. However my experience is that the Edge also sniffs out iron (square nails etc). Is there anything I can do to limit digging these items without compromising potential valuable targets that still lie in the tone range? Thanks for any suggestive imput.

Wayne

Yes Bounty Hunter did buy Fisher but everything still Remains the same on all their metal detectors including a Lifetime warranty.

OOPS.... I Guess I shoulda read all the other postings on this subject before I went and got all paranoid;sorry...:blink:

Some dealers are going to be losing sales to me since I am not buying and selling. I thought about it a while and it was silly for ME to buy and sell. Buy Hi,sell lo. Well after some thought (and brought to my attention) I have quit buying and therefore not selling. Thanks for bringing it to my attention... Man, am I saving some $$$$$. I have bought from many of the forum sponsors, more than once.. It was enjoyable while I was doing it. I do like trying out a lot of different detectors, but not now....Thanks again for helping me save money.

 They just need a facelift....I think this new facelift IS the problem with the LACK OF INTEREST IN THE NEW FISHER MODELS. WHEN I FIRST SAW THE BIG COLORFUL DECALS ON THE SIDES THEY WERE A BIG TUNOFF! I know,.. I know...its performance that counts but new buyers and even some veterans like a detector that really looks good and solid and not cheap looking or something that looks like a toy. The new models are probably real good just like Mr. Ladd said but numerical ID has been out for a while. Its nothing new. Just my opinion. HH
