I hear Bounty Hunter Bought Fisher ???????

god,i hope youre right :) :) :) .... anyway, i found it strange that i could find no links provided by anyone to 'confirm' this rumour,ie news reports etc...

out in the field not that Bounty Hunters are bad .So don't get your pantys in wad Kelly I am not the first to post this info HH:shrug:

Are the BH well built like fisher or cheap and tend to break, they may work ok,but will they last or break after a couple hits? They just look cheap to me! Just hope they wont start making the fisher line cheap...Just want to know,,,never seen a BH in action!

but, is the rumor true or NOT? I'm sure they will be a lot more comforable if they aren't all wadded up, at least that's what I've heard anyways hahahahahahahahahaha!

Depends on your definition of bought.

My sources tell me something is brewing if not already finalized.

With Dave Johnson, Chief Engineer of Bounty Hunter and an Ex-Engineer of Fisher and the developer of the X and CZ Series, would not surprise me.

Ever since Fisher was purchased by a corporation having nothing to my knowledge to do with metal detectors, and Dave Johnson leaving and eventually working for Tesoro to develope their Lobo Super Traq, Fisher's contributions to new models ever since the coin strike and 1270X, amount to new decals and limited changes on, nothing too exciting.

Bounty Hunter recognizes the needs for higher quality professional performance detectors and hopefully if their acquisition of Fisher Holds True, won't degrade the quality and performance.

Actually,

The ID Edge operating at its low frequency will deep null Iron resulting in longer shut off time in spite of its two filter design...

The BEST see through on Ferrous and Non-Ferrous continues to be the older 100 kHz TRs.

With Regards to the probable Bounty Hunter-Fisher Marriage, my only concern is that First Texas does not CHEAPEN the Fisher Quality like they did when acquring the Bounty Hunter Teknetics Line from Tek LTD.

Fisher Pioneered the Gold Bug and Dual Frequency is the CZ.

The 1260X when it came out with twin discrimination and a very low frequency proved to be very unique and developed a reputation for deep.

Bounty Hunter-First Texas has an extensive large plant capacity. Fisher has been 'Fishing' around for buyers and probably approached First Texas as well as the other major players.

Well,

If you call Fisher and ask them a question about the basics, their 'staff' has problems answering, even to the point of a language barrier.

In fact, I just used the Edge last night & the lighter weight & better sound quality really makes it hard to put down.....
(plus I don't see those +51 hot rocks)

Classics and IDX line.

You said "The ID Edge operating at its low frequency will deep null Iron resulting in longer shut off time in spite of its two filter design..."

The digital Fishers are totally different technology from older 2 filter designs.

as mine sure is more than some new blue stickers........
who is this new drive by shooter anyhow??

Well Greg, I've had most of the 1200's and CZ's..... if you think the new stuff (of which I own all three) is nothing much, we'll have to agree to disagree. :pulltab:

To me that is what it is about. rather than thinking one brand is the ONLY. There are many good companys out there. Glad that I can afford to TRY AND SELL. At a loss I might add. I try not to be Closed minded about it. Just a hobby to me...

I sure hope someone buys Fisher that is reasonable. I just sent in my CZ-20 for repair and got a call telling me the price to repair would be just under $700. That is pretty rediculous. It just quit working, I did not drive over it with a Semi.
