I will be 56 in April. So I suppose that I fit into this demographic. I like this post as I feel a little better about aging now. I got into this hobby about 5-6 years ago , or more. I was incredibly lucky, or cursed, to find some of the oldest relics in my area fairly quickly. Now If I find a coin from the 20,s-30,s, or an old marble, an old bottle, I am quite delighted. These days checking out side walk grass strips and listening for those deep quiet coins is highly pleasurable, even if it is just a 1928 penny. I was never driven by the lust for gold and I got into water detecting last year for the first time. I was surprised and extremely excited about finding so many rings, so relatively easily. And standing there chest deep in the water and lifting the scoop to see half a Herring bone gold chain dangling from the scoop lip will be forever burned into my memory. How exciting !!! I am into the outdoors and metal detecting bit me hard. I am just a very average skilled detectorist but I find enough fun bits to keep the flame eternally burning. I tend to cherry pick due to degenerative arthritis in my three lower vertebra. So the AT Pro with all of its information is a God send for someone like me. I started with an ACE 250 which stayed rock solid for years until I sold it to a local farm wife for a hundred bucks, wish that I kept it now, lol. And my AT Pro has been maintenance free other than a bad headphone connection, which was dealer replaced.
