It will be available September 15/2010. Retail price is $349.00. Looks like Garrett is continuing with a low price for this relic machine.

Yeah it's equipped with that new coil I told you about some months back that the engineers were testing.. Should be a nifty little relic and coinshooter.

Bill

Man John, how did you find that on there web site? Im always looking for there new stuff hidden away..but you got to it. Nice little machine. Ought to be popular in the Civil War areas. Love that new coil.

Thanks for the heads up!
I remember Bill talking about that new coil a while back.

:usaflag:So all a person would have to do is buy the 8.5 X 11 DD coil to turn their 250 into a 350...if they ever offer the coil for sale by itself..don't see it sold seperately anywhere at this point. Nice machine anyways.

It will be interesting to know if the frequency of these coils is still close enough to use on the 250. I suspect that the 250 would be a much better detector with a DD coil, if it behaves like the Scorcher coil does on the GTI. Being 1.75kHz apart, they may be too far apart to be compatible. I wouldn't be interested in the 350 as such, as it is almost a 250 with a slight shift in the notching and the DD coil being the only differences.Bit like Minelab did to create the SE Pro and Whites coming out with the MXT 300.
Mick Evans.

:usaflag:Hopefully someday Garrett will offer a smaller DD coil for the 250, 10 X 14 would be a bit heavy I think. Has anyone tried this set-up?

:usaflag:That is very good news.....Thanks John.

I'm curious as to how you know it works on the 250? I thought the the frequency is too far apart to work effectively. I assume that you've either used it or you could have ask Garrett's.
Thanks.
Mick Evans.

Might be ok. The small package is great but will it be able to hang with the T2's. Hope so. I just don't think there's enough change there to be a deep fast relic hunter. Time will tell as people put them to work on battle sites and old home sites. Hope Garrett didn't just change the face plate and frequency and put the new coil on it without putting a little something under the hood like faster clock speed and some real punch. Can't wait to see some reviews. If a $300 detector can hang with the GTI 2500 or T2 then they have a winner.

FINALLY!!! How many remember my rants on when the heck Garrett! is coming out with a new machine. LOL

That being said, Personally I dont feel as though it is that much of an upgrade. But very decent in its own right. I hopw it has a faster processor to handle fast recovery. I also want to know the ground balance specs. If it has no ground balance it kinda most likey will act like an old Fisher 1266x

We will wait and see.

I do feel as though the new Top of the Line is right around the corner. Please dont let it be big and yellow.

HH
Take care

Already have the Ace 250 with Kellyco's Excelerior 10" x 14" coil.
What upgrade would it be for us with this set up?
Any idea on the price ?

Happy Hunting John

Bruce

I like the new machine but dont expect it to be a 2500 in depth comparison. The depth meter on the new Ace 350 goes to 8". It goes to 12" on the 2500.

It will definatly handle hotter ground better than the 250 with this new coil.

Alan

I have been in Contact with Garrett and they reassured me that the new coil will work on both. Why & how? I honestly don't know.....
