Favorite Tesoro

Think the original Lobo small elliptical coil was called piglet, I have one for my original Lobo.

Strange looking, coil connector mounts to upper front. Works great, small for tight areas.

Paul

Have two favorites, First is an original Tesoro Lobo. Great relic unit, getting one that works like it should makes a difference on performance.

Second favorite.... Tesoro Pantera, love the tones excellent as a coin unit or both coin and jewelry hunter. Not very deep, but with notch its a fun unit to operate.

I have a few Tesoro's the old tone golden u-max, vaquero, stingray, tiger shark, and the beast Tejon. I love them all, for dirt I tend to use the Vaquero. I have compared it in depth to the M.L.s which I own several. The Vaquero and Tejon are faster and deeper than any thing else I own or have compared to. They all specialize, I bought the Tejon for relic hunting and used it in Alabama within a half hour I recovered a civil war bullet my brothers detector couldn't see. The Vaquero recovery is the fastest I have seen. I can pick targets in in trashy areas with near full discrimination. The Tiger and Stingray shine in freshwater, my M.L.s are great too but the Tesoro's are better on gold chains and have faster recovery in trashy areas. For the money Tesoro's are tough to beat, when I purchased my Tiger second hand I sent it in because it had a leak, for fifty dollars they made it like new!

Hmmmm...although I only have the Deleon and Mohave now. If I'm hunting manicured lawns and parks I'm using the Deleon. Because of the sure confidence I have with it. I think tesoros 10-12 k machines are all very good at finding the gold jewlery and silver..I mostly relic and coin hunt nowadays so I occasionally use the Mohave

Not seeing a lot of love for the Tejon. So here's my two cents. Had one for several years and it's been dropped, rained on, thrown across creeks prior to crossing, and bounced around in the bed of my truck all this time. It's been back to the factory once for a check up and the trigger switch replaced. Hunted along side the newest, latest and greatest machines and the Tejon holds her own pretty well. So it gets my vote. My Cibola with the 5.75 coil is no slouch either!

The Vaquero. This is the deepest machine I ever used in full discrimination when power balanced.

I would not part with the lobo s.t very smooth machine its easy to tell most junk targets without the disc roll,,,,,CEDAR

Right now the Mojave is my favorite.
It seems to drop my jaw on just about every hunt.

I tried the tejon seemed a little finicky to keep stable great in iron battery hog,I had a vaquero didnt give it enough time to evaluate want to try it again dont know if it would have that much over the l.s.t except for the G.B. super tune feature. I have the 9x8 coil on it getting an honest 9 inches on dime size targets might try the 11x8 dd coil or the 10x12 Im torn in this decision new detector or upgrade coil need feed back,,,,,detector addiction I have 8,,,,,CEDAR

I think I need one or two more..... Hahahahahaha

I currently have 5 Tesoro/Laser machines that i have collected over the years, the latest and newest on is the UK version of the Vaquero running @18khz,on reflection why i bought them i dont have a clue that have been just sat in my cupboard for years and as brand new basically,i kid myself from time to time that i will use them at some stage, but they still keep gathering dust.

Will i sell them or keep them that is the crux of the matter, the latest addition the Vaquero based machine even with the small NEL Snake coil on that i was was planning on using on trashy roman sites for just does not ignite my enthusiasm like all my other detectors. They are much more popular across the pond, the heyday for Tesoro detectors here was possibly about 20+ years ago,its a very very rare sight too see one, could go months without seeing anyone using one either on club digs or detecting rallies, that shows you how popular they are here these days......they have just done become rather bland.

Tejon! It's an animal and just as capable as a detector twice it's price once learned

Love them both. I sold off a Tejon, but bought another one because I just had to have it back again. Not selling it again.

Don't own one so my vote may not count but after doing a lot of reading and watching videos the Tejon is on my bucket list of detectors to own.
