Dirt Fishin America New England Thread

Looks like you beat your oldest coin by 10 years, congratulations!

Sure did!

Well actually if you count my Chinese coins I've still got a couple hundred years to go

Wow, what a pile of amazing finds! Thanks for posting the new photos! Amazing how much can be found in older parts of the country! It's almost not worth even hunting in Oregon LOL!

Personally I'm more interested in the American history coins, than the Chinese coins, the rest of the world is so much older! I can't wait to see more of your photos, I know how busy you guys are making epic finds so photos have to take back seat but soon enough! In Oregon, old silver coins are hard to come by if not just out right rare! I can't wait to get back to Maryland later this year to visit my in-laws.....well my Wife will visit them, I'll visit long enough to pack up my CTX and head for the hills!

Here's to your continued good luck! HH

I've been wanting to find a piece of Spanish colonial silver for a looooong time now and today I can say that I dug a 1788 half reale. Also I've always wanted to find a US three cent piece but figured I never would because they're VERY small and sound exactly like pull tabs, so I usually avoid those targets. The field we hunted today was full of colonial era flat buttons that sound like pull tabs so I was digging those signals and bam! Three cent peice. 1852. Frank from detect America also found a reale and a couple colonial coppers circa 1770. Eric dug a super rare war of 1812 naval button too. Oh.... And Drew dug a uber rare US 1/2 cent from 1794. A day full of VERY rare coins.... All on film sorry I just geeked out on you

Haha, feel free to geek away! Love hearing the details! That's a lot of very cool rare finds.

Brandon's going to be putting in for a transfer to the east coast...

He isn't the only one! Congrats to all for some great recoveries. And for making those of us who hunt in areas of the Country where those coins are virtually non-existent, extremely envious! HH Randy

AMEN to that! I'm ready to move to Maryland where I have in-laws! I loved it back there, all the really OLD history (By Oregon standards anyway!), the place just amazes me, not just Maryland but VA, WV, DC the whole of New England does and I can't stand not being able to hunt there! Sure is fun watching you guys digemup! Will be even more fun seeing the looks on your faces when the video comes out.

Reale, trime, Liberty cap half cent, yeah you guys hit a home run today. Awesome day, congrats.
Jon

My only find for the day.... I'll take it! 1693 William and Mary Irish coppah. Bout six. But it had a piece of coal on top of it. The field has been hit a thousand times... But not with a CTX the coal brought the signal waaaaaay down. 12:12 and sloppy with fireworks for a signal trace. But there was a squeaker coming through. Pinpointed the coal with the 25 and then re-scanned... Bam! Coppah!

Nice find!

Damn Brandon! You waste no time filling your bucket list with all that old loot!

Your're doing better than the locals over there!

Nice find! If you're going just get ONE, that's a good ONE! I'm surprised you're not kissing that coin, another new oldest! Man you guys are going to be so spoiled after hunting there, I can only imagine, I'm chomping at the bit to get to Maryland! Good luck on more great finds Doc!

Man we're having a blast!

Is this a "Farewell Tour" or the makings of another Metal Detecting Show? Just kidding. Good luck.

Thats a nice one and tough to find.
