Sterling silver. I wasn't sure until I found the second half. It's marked. If you zoom into the 2nd pic of the second set posted, you can see.
I've found a lot of engraved sterling silver artifacts at this site. For so many personal items to be found, I believe there may have been a fire and the remains bulldozed.
Although I haven't really found any indication of a fire. there are a lot of personal items dug. flatware, belt buckles, pocket watch innards, ointment tubes, compacts, 2 inch round tins (some ornate), buttons, cheap jewelry, etc.
But also old car parts, brass gas fittings, fixture handles, hat pins from machine shop equipment, stuff like that. About 30 damaged pennies, trade tokens, 10 silver dimes (most mercs). The site has me rather perplexed as to what was there. Nothing noted on historical maps of the area.
Store, shop, home, picnic grove? Everything is represented at this site.
