I found this in a field that I've pulled coins ranging from 1890's to the 1920's. Many of the personal items I've dug are engraved like this one.
I have no clue as to what it could be from.

Nice find, like the look of it. It is of someone that had some money from the looks of it and my first impression looks like it has on one edge a stopper of some sort, is there rubber or something on what looks like a plug. If it is that my impression is a stopper for a bottle of some some sort. If it is I will say it might be for a personized wine or other liquid. As you notice there is a hole in what looks like a stopper and think there had been a rod running though it and when you lifted on the opposite end it would release the rubber on the plug so you could release the cork in the bottle and when done you would put the plug back in pull the other end back down which would pull that rod up and squished the rubber plug to seal the container .

Don't know for sure, but that is what it looks like to me, That type plug on the end was used in some older temos bottles or hot water bottles. Like I say it is a guess and maybe someone else will know more.
