called garrett on headphones and...............

Maybe you should go to the Garrett website and see for yourself instead of trusting the forums. If you do a little research instead of crying you will see that the AT PRO and Infinium headphones on the Garrett website have the same product number...I posted this about 2 weeks ago, guess you missed it. Therefore, they are the same.

Here is their website: http://garrett.com

Jason go buy a Minelab Excalibur hahahahaha you cant even remove the headphones because they are hardwired in hahahahaha. Geeeez man. At least from what I hear Garrett is gonna make an adapter for any headphones. See If the over priced Minelabs will do that.
:puke:

It's nice that ALL the Garrett phones fit ALL the Garrett machines .....That's a great feature .......When including a set of phones with the AT Pro , perhaps another nice feature would be to INCLUDE the adapter in case someone want's to use their own phones.....Some folks spend over $100 for a set of phones that they are use to ..... It's not thier fault that there is a specail plug buitlt into the AT Pro , and the adapter as I said earlier should be included rather than made an option .... Knowing the quality of Garrett products , I'm sure that the included phones will be nice , but there will always be folks who either don't like them , or just want to use their own phones ....Jim

well we just as well ask them to give us life time supply of batteries, they are giving a set of headphones with it how much should they give with it at 600 buck maybe the sniper coil.

I have a Sovereign GT that I can wade with. I want the AT Pro for its higher frequency for jewelty in fresh water. In case you have not noticed I am a Garret fan and have had great success with my GTAx-1250 in the past.( go search my past posts) Your bull headed response is laughable. Like I said in a post that is at the top of the page, what is it with the Garrett guys who have usually been level headed acting all defensive with honest good questions?
wow?!

take care

Personally, every pair of free headphones I have ever received with a detector purchase, including the Garrett I used to own, were junk. Maybe these headphones are better, but rather than include a pair of headphones, they should include the adapter instead, as most people either have there own headphones or will purchase a pair that suits them. I have a hard time believing that a pair of free headphones is going to be better than my killer bee's or pro golds.

I agree with Jason that people are being very rude here. I at first had the same concerns. I thought I would have to hard wire a plug onto a pair of my headphones making them obsolete to use with my other detectors. But it sounds like there is an adapter to use which is good. I would rather they include it than a pair of headphones that I would not use.
Jason had a legitimate concern.

bearkat4160..Like you said most other water detectors that you pay twice as much for... Have the headphones hardwired in them....... Now they get a AT Pro that you can with a adapter use any head phones you want...............Without sending them back to the company and costing you a big buck.............And they are still crying BO HO... BO Ho keep on crying ...You don't know a good thing when you see it......Well bearkat4160 knows it is a good deal.........

kwdstalker ,
What are you Garretts nephew or something ? .....You act like this is coming out of your pocket ......How much is a simple adapter ? ...... Is $600 chump change ? ...... Touchy crowd here !!.....Jim

Nope never met the man and 600 is not chump change to me but everything they sent for free has to be paid some how most companies add it to the cost of the item, there is a post in this forum http://www.findmall.com/read.php?32,1314092,1314261#msg-1314261 that the adaptor can be bought from somebody but not Garrett, here is the post. if you get the headphone adaptor I want one to make one of my sniper coils which are for Garrett ultra gta 500 Garrett 250 ace and gti2500 seeing as I gave around 100 bucks each for them, that is what most that are wanting the adaptor say they gave for their headphones.

here is what garrett told me in an email few weeks back when i asked

Hi Tuffy,

We dont actually make those. We do sell parts for the customer to build their own, (they are quite tedious to build) or I have a guy in East Texas that builds and sells them for 40 something dollars. His info is below

Hope this helps, if you want to purchase the parts let me know.

buy the Ace 350 instead or any other non-waterproof land machine instead. You can use any headphones that you want to on those. There is NO waterproof metal detector on the market that doesn't use a special waterproof fitting to connect the headphones. And even worse some even have the headphones hardwired so you have absolutely no choice on headphones. I really have no idea why there is so much BS going on over the waterproof headphone connector on a waterproof metal detector. What a joke! JMHO

Are you serious? I am bringing up a valid point that I am sure many others agree with. What serious detectorist even contemplates detecting without headphones in the field. And I don't think many are to happy with the fact that you may be forced to use Garrett headphones unless you make your own sort of Frankenstein adaptor. Garrett or one of it's testers let the cat out of the bag that an adaptor plug may or may not be available. None of us just pulled that theory out of thin air. We just want a straight answer. The Garrett forum has always been a group of level headed people. It seems that some of the Garrett loyalist are getting offended by serious questions about a serious machine.

Why don't you just get your self a water detector made by some other company they are hard wired in and it will cost you shipping and bench work to change them....... Go cry to the companys that hardwire them in at lease with Garrett you will have some option's

The real question is why does a waterproof detector come standard with headphones that are not waterproof? Waterproof phones are an option. Anyone know what the waterproof phones are going to cost?

Infinium comes with the land phones also...whats the big deal. More hunts are done ON LAND. Law of averages.

If you dont like Garretts decision for land headphones as standard equipment...when you order your AT PRO, order both headphones with the unit.

Alan

Thing is, waterproof phones can be used on land or in the water. The reverse isn't so. Just another marketing gimmick to make an extra buck.

I have a pair of water proof headphones on my water machine and do not like to use them in anything but in the water. Because they are water proof they make me very hot and uncomfortable when I use them on land. I am looking forward to seeing what Garrett headphones are like on the New AT Pros.
