WHAT'S YOUR OPINION AND PICK ON THE BEST AND WORST TESORO DETECTOR MODELS MADE,FROM THE CURRENT MODELS TO THE OLD MODELS.REMEMBER JUST YOUR PICK OF BEST AND WORST!!

I always liked my old Inca. Maybe it was I had it the longest (wished I still did). I never used a Tesoro I disliked.

[size=large]the 'original' Bandido as the best, even though I am torn a bit between it and a few others. I liked the 'original' Eldorado, but the Bandido that replaced it had better balance and easy-to-reach controls, not to mention the excellent ED-120 discrimination. Another all-time favorite is the

Tesoros' "worst" is working pretty well for me. I think a question like this is not really an accurate assessment of anything, as the area that one hunts can make all the difference. Some hunt highly mineralized soil and others don't. Some are hunting ghost towns, others beaches, and still others are hunting parks and school yards. I might say the Tiger Shark is the worst because I hunt parks, but take it to the beach and it's a whole different story.

For me, the Cortes works better than anything I've ever owned for hunting Canadian coins in parks and school yards.

Dan,All around Tesoro make the most liked and used detector(I think) around. If I had to choose one detector it would be a Tesoro,But threw the years some detectors have shined over all the others. Its good to get a report card on honest opinions which Tesoros are the best and what options people would like to see on new Tesoro's.I'm sure Tesoro rep's read this forum and report there findings.

always liked the II series, Bandido II, Silver Sabre II, Golden Sabre II. those are my favorites.

worst would be the water machines, they work really well but have the necessary controls in the wrong locations(Tiger Shark....sens inside the control housing?)

Montes right, is Tesoro ever going to come out with anything worth getting or just live off what they offer now.? I sure hope there is some type of R&D going on over there.

Neil

That's like saying, has anyone seen a bad Clint Eastwood movie?????

I liked the Pantera the best and will probably always keep the one I have. Never liked any machine with internal controls.

I feel Monte is correct.

Tesoro may lose market share if they can not compete with an impressive display
such as the Little Yeller Feller has.

...and I DID gladly swap my 'as new' Little Yeller Feller for a well used Tesoro SS uMax...

Of the current Tesoro machines, best dollar spent is most likely the Silver uMax.
It seems Tesoro water machines have never gained a great deal of acceptance.

I'm going to have to agree with Dan, the Cortes has been nothing short of wonderful for me. I have no more problems with the TID than I have with any other detector, I have won a competition hunt with it against may "better" detectors. I get all the the depth I want to dig, up to 6-8 inches constantly and deeper once in a while. I have found gold, silver and all flavors of clad.

I'm not sure why several think it is the worst, other than it's somewhat high price, but I bought mine used, but like new for $500 and find it well worth the price.

, i have used a lot of tesoros since they came to the uk, found a lot of great stuff with all models , only 2 complaints , in the uk a lot of people thought the silver sabre 2 was a waste of time, and my silver turtle, great machine but poor build quality, always needing repairs to headphone wiring, the original silver sabre was years ahead of it,s time and is one of my all time favourite detectors

Cortes was one of my best detectors in the past, but I will nominate Tejon as the best and Golden Sabre II (with meter) as the worst.
I agree that it ist the highest time, that Tesoro will come up with with couple of new models with updated designs, possibly with ID, otherwise will stay far behind the others.

I have never had a bad Tesoro either, but I also agree that Tesoro needs to come out with a visual target ID detector like the Garrett Ace series, the Fisher F2, and the Bounty Hunters. All of these can be purchased for under $200.00 on today's market. Are there any rumors that Tesoro will make a cheaper visual ID detector?

I think the Cortes does a great job for me. In my mild soil, it gets coins at 6 inches or more and ID's them to 5 inches. The 10KHZ finds the gold jewelry, but the 14KHZ Vaquero is a little more sensitve to small gold. I use the Cortes on land because of the ID meter, and the V. at the beach.
