As I continue to add overseas detectors.......

Our companies are a sleep at the wheel. My new favorite beep and dig at the moment is the Pirate Black Devil 2 Pro. Paid a mere 300.00 new on eBay! It has super recovery speed, excellent depth of detection, 2 tone ID, manual and automatic GB, threshold! Well designed and lite ! Coils are great. The small six inch is a killer separating the goods from the iron! Remember I hunt colonial sites . I dig everything non ferrous.

Hi George

Yeah everyone was asleep at the wheel as well not buying the Pirate, that was a great price for a super detector.

I couldn't justify buying it, one too many detectors here and not enough time to use them all. At the time, needed to upgrade to a higher end camera...

Correct me if I am wrong but, the European beep and digs miss one important parameter range on one control. Disc setting will not disc beyond small foil.
Deeptech etc. would kick butt with an expanded disc control like Tesoros. In fairness, if you don't hunt with a disc setting higher than small foil. These European
detectors have surprisingly excellent performance. With build quality matching or exceeding US detector standards. Also, would be nice to see European machines
offer a concentric coils along with the more popular DD coils used overseas.

For $300, worth the taking a chance on.

I think the European machines are designed to find Hammered coins in iron infested sites so why expand the disc. range! If anyone needs this they can buy one of ours made for their market. The Pirate Pro will disc. foil at the top of it's range. My conditions on iron laden colonial house sites mimic Europe in a way. It was a great investment because I can eliminate a few more expensive models I have. Hope your well friend.

I looked at that machine and wondered about disc range , maybe I wont use the disc high all the time but there are times I want too and for me that's why I do not own one of these detectors they seem great but that's the let down for me.

That's why I carry four with me. None made in the USA. Sad but happy! French, Turkey, 2 Bulgarian!

In the UK we set our disc at iron nails and then we dig all targets, that way we can find the small thin silver hammered coins that register at foil. Les

I use a AKA Sorex as one of my main machines and it's probably my favorite machine ever. But getting parts is sketchy at best.

most "european machines" are bulgarian brands such as Pirate, Detech, Deeptech, Golden Mask, Vista, Blisstool a.s.o.

The Golden Mask 5 only discs out small iron but the spectrum screen ID's really well so you can easily see if a target falls into foil range etc i just love mine, sold my Racer2 as it was getting no depth in my soil which is med-high mineralised but the GM5 just slices through it, makes for a brill relic machine also.

Golden mask is bulgarian? Really I was just on the site and it said they were from UK I thought.

I have a hunch they all originate from the same "proven" circuit design and are off shoots of it. Notice how similar they are.........
The Blisstool was said to originate from the Wave circuitry.

The Desert Gold detectors from Italy are actually Golden Mask circuit boards. http://desertgold.it/desertgolden.htm

Here's a couple others Enignma
Relax Detectors One I just found out about today.

I was watching a pirate on eBay....it looks like a sweet machine....yup those overseas machines look like they would do well around my littered square nail cellar hole sites. It would be a tough choice to figure out what one to snag....

they all sound the same , just watching the relax video deep as they all seem to be, if someone could tweak one to have disc just to cut out tabs would open up a huge market for them.

anyway sure seems like a nice design.

A little vid of my GM5 in my test garden. I'm digging up a coin i burried a while back, it's 9' or so deep and i could barely get a hit with my Racer2 and stock coil, so was well impressed when the GM5 hit it solid with the 5'coil, though my soil is med-high mineralised and the Racer2 struggles bad in it.

i have to correct myself: detech metal detectors and coils (13" Ultimate DD coil) is romanian, not bulgarian

sorry, just checked it, detech is also bulgarian, not romanian, sorry for the confusion.

I own or have used all the aforementioned. After yesterdays short hunt, in machine gun iron signals, buried power and broadband cables, hot rocks and iron stone the Pirate Black Devil pulled two more buttons and an Indian all in the same holes with iron. The small seven inch coil is a killer! Found one I like. Hurray for the moment!
