Please do not let this get out of hand. I do not want this subject to cause trouble.
I am going to call the company to try to get them to advertise on this site.
The owners of this site have every right to set the rules. If it was me, I probably would do the same. After all it is there dime and the idea is to make this site worth while enough for all to visit often and to have it self sufficient.
So far this stuff has far exceeded my expectations. Even though it has a little bit of glare, I can still see the screen unlike the available covers with the Vinyl clear screen covers. And even though I have gotten the E-trac really covered with lots of mud and sand, not even one little scratch. No more worries about that problem ever again.
I also have been experimenting with clear silicone caulk to tighten up the control box and the battery compartment / handle to make it waterproof. So far that has worked out really well. The one place that most people overlook is the shaft. It is hollow and when putting the coil in the water, it fills up and when you bring the coil above level, the water runs into the control box. I just put some caulking in the shaft and problem solved.
I still would not recommend using the E-trac in the water because it will fall and that will be that. Best to get an Excalibur for wet work and not have to worry. But having a water resistant, scratch resistant E-trac to use if it rains is really nice.
