Anyone have the information on where to get the plastic screen overlays for the explorers/etracs?

Wish I'd had mine a little earlier. I noticed yesterday that I had some fine scratches across the screen. Had to be from the mud from my gloves while hunting in the wet. I got some special made for aircraft window, plastic scratch remover. It helped but if I'd had that material avaialbel when I took it out of the box, It'd be in better shape now. Jim

I'd like to know where to get those covers too. If someone would post a link or send me an email I would appreciate

Apparently the admins do NOT want you to have this screen protector. Good luck finding it. If you need acetate to cut your own you can get that at Walmart.

Talked with another person on here who has it on his ET. He said it covers the screen and all the buttons. He took his after market cover, made by SunRay or MineLab, and cut out the clear plastic in that cover. He used the film from the manufacturer not named to protect the screen and uses the accessory cover without the clear plastic to cover the top, sides, and speaker vents. I haven't seen a picture of it yet but he says it provides good protection. As an aside...Living in Washington State in the SouthWest part of the State, the weather, except for rain, is pretty much huntable all year. In the last few months I have been out with the ET in the rain. Mud/dirt from my gloves has gotten on the screen no matter how careful I've been. The results are a screen that has fine horizontal scratches across the front. It' s not noticeable till the sun hits it at just the right angle. If I'd had the cover for it earlier, I'd not have experienced that damage to the screen. The only solution is to get some of the polish used for aircraft windscreens and try to polish it out. Or send it to MineLab to have the screen replaced. Jim

Here is another way to go. Go to a print shop and get some static cling vinyl in clear color , cut it to shape and stick it to the screen. No glues or adhesives needed. Stick it on, peel it off whenever. It's the same stuff used for window advertising, etc.

I think it is absurd that the administrator of this site will not allow Z-A-G-G to be published. These great screen covers are $20 each, a far cry from $1500 for a new E-trac. There is no way the producer of these screen covers could pay an advertisers fee to the website for such a small sale price. It is now obvious that this website administrator is only interested in money, and not in the spirit of helping us metal-detectors. I fully expect this post to be deleted as soon as you-know-who reads it.

This post will likely cause my posting privilage to be revoked, and if so, that's fine with me. I don't intent to patronize such crap. So good night for the last time.
