Any news on whats new coming for the Deus?

The recurring question concerning this new coil is whether it will be capable of running in more than one frequency simultaneously like a V3i , FBS or CZ etc.
Can you either confirm or deny that aspect of the rumors at this time?

I have been told by a dealer who is very connected to XP that it is a multi frequency coil , running on all 4 or more ? frequencies like the V3i and FBS types .

I did see someone at another dealer yesterday that seems to think there are 2 coils being released but I don't know about that .

He said one is a multi freq and the other is a beach coil , but for the beach and especially the wet you need a multi freq so I think he must be wrong

Is that true Andy ?

A lot of speculation and rumors that seem to becoming detector lore . . . . . so to repeat details on what is coming as communicated directly from Alain in France . . . .

The next version of the software will be V4.0 and is likely to come out late 2015 or early 2016 based on the results of the field trials which have been going on for some time in one version or another

The coil is an elliptical coil . . . . . about 6" x 9" in size

The V4.0 software will work with all current units and coils; however, to have all of the features active on the V4.0 platform, you will need the new coil. If you do not need what the coil-specific options are, your current rig will work fine and you get the new version of the software with some enhancements in performance.

There are some other accessories that are under development within XP that will work with the Deus . . details are not open at this time but when they are, we'll post them here.

No it does not have to be multi frequency to work in the wet salt, all it has to do is sample the receive signal in the time domain as per a PI or the FBS units.

Surely if that was that simple then it would have been done by everyone by now and I would be using a lightweight machine on the salt instead of a eventual arm killer !
Anyway all that matters is that the new coil works and well.

Yes they do, 25 years I think, which should be running out just around now, maybe why a couple of manufacturers are developing multi frequency machines at the moment?

Just wondering here Andy, with the new upgrades, are you going to write instructions in a new book or are you going to create an addendum which could be purchased separately for those of us that already have your book or both?

Based on what we have all learned since the XP Deus Handbook was released along with the changes coming in V4.0 and the accompanying hardware options, a revised Handbook is the route we are looking at going. The new edition will be released when there is some run time on the new software / hardware so that we can capture tips that will help users quickly leverage them into better finds in the field.

The current book has been well received worldwide and many dealers here in the US and elsewhere tell customers that it will shorten the learning curve and help unlock the performance the machine holds. The next edition will build on the content and take feedback into consideration as to where additional focus is needed and explanations warranted.

We will try to offer those that purchased their current book from us a savings on the new one but where ever you got your copy, the new one will have enough new material to earn a place on your bookshelf or in your carrying bag.,
