Any news on whats new coming for the Deus?

Why would it effect speed ? if you use all the other programs on the Deus they are all different for recovery speed , wet beach is a lot slower than the Deus fast or Goldmaxx programs .
If your happy with V3.2 then dont up grade but if you want the extra functions then do but dont get the coil , i cant see how anything will change for you.

Having the new coil will only improve the Deus .

Anyway speed or recovery is not always important as speed of swing , if you swing fast then you wont get the depth . Swing slower then you will hear all targets that are close together.

I hared Andy is writting a new book with the update. I heard multy freq by a good source. I have seen someone dig a target at 18 inches while testing the new update...so lets all chill and see what happens..They will increase sales with a new update and maybe small coil or multy freq that work at one time...but lets let it play out..I'm sure we will want the new coil and that is how they make money but we also gain from it

i am fairly sure a multi frequ has been ruled out as its just not feasible with the current hardware

Where did you get your information from ?
Its not what i have been hearing . The new V4 version is supposed to be part of the package .
As the whole machine is wireless anyway it should work with the update ?

Anyway if the multi freq coil doesn't come then i think that XP will have got to the end of the line with regards to the Deus , a multi freq coil or capability would give the Deus an edge for many years to come
and give the machine a proper chance to do places that were once Minelab only territory , like the wet beach.

i could give a link but you cant read it if not a member

but if he can i wont be complaining as i need a better TID

I am a member of that forum and it was someone who is a member that told me about the coil .
And it looks that others in the know know about it too.

We will have to wait and see , which is always the biggest pain in the .....

On another thread someone said that the Deus upgrade was going to include a elliptical coil. If that is so what will that by us over the DD coils? That is to say what kind of improvement ( I assume it will be an improvement) will it have over the DD?

Thanks,

El

I dont know of any elliptical concentric coils so i think it will be the one for the salt wet and be the multi freq coil .
Being that the Deus is a land machine by nature i think they will have to make the coil around 9in by 6in to keep it good enough for the salt , for me it will be a bit small but i will put up with it .
I want a salt wet coil .

If it's a dual-freq 6x9 or so I'll probably buy one....after the test results come out...sounds like it must be very complex to get it right hence the very long development process....

Is this XP's answer to a sniper coil then? More suited to get in tight spaces than the 9"? Would you explain how dual-freq would benefit it?

the thing you have to do on the deus is lower the gain when hunting in a lot of iron and turn up the reactivity to at least 4 but I don't think it can trump the racer..I have both and for me the racer kicks #$## in heavy iron but it they make a 5x10 coil that could be it for the deus to take on another life. Multy freq would give you more depth and could help with silver finds the CZ3D has two freq and it is very deep. The deus lets you pick 4 different freq

Check out thread

to wait for new model of deus or to buy existing model

ON Gary's Metal Detecting Forum .

Its a certainty that a new multi freq coil is coming .

It's all good the longer the better and we may have to pay but hey it would and will be worth it

A lot of speculation and rumors that seem to becoming detector lore . . . . . so to repeat details on what is coming as communicated directly from Alain in France . . . .

The next version of the software will be V4.0 and is likely to come out late 2015 or early 2016 based on the results of the field trials which have been going on for some time in one version or another

The coil is an elliptical coil . . . . . about 6" x 9" in size

The V4.0 software will work with all current units and coils; however, to have all of the features active on the V4.0 platform, you will need the new coil. If you do not need what the coil-specific options are, your current rig will work fine and you get the new version of the software with some enhancements in performance.

There are some other accessories that are under development within XP that will work with the Deus . . details are not open at this time but when they are, we'll post them here.

I know many would prefer a smaller elliptical coil but I would like to see a 11 in x 9 in multi freq coil .
I just need a multi freq coil that can cover more ground better than a 9in but be good on the wet salt.

Anyway I will buy the coil anyway.

it needs a hodograph for better visual displays imo

Andy, will the new coil be able to upgrade to future updates with built-in future capabilities, or is XP planning on requiring updates in coils in lieu of updates of detectors? Tell me this is not the future of update-if that's not the case.

The new coil is linked to the new update due to the Deus not having as yet the ability to run all 4 freqs at one go . Any new updates will be tailored to all future updates by this way I think .

If you have the 3.2 then if a new single freq coil comes out then you will be able to use it as will the V4

If its a multi freq coil then only the V4 will be able to use it .

So the answer is update to V4 if you want all the coils or stay as you are then have all the single freqs .

You are not missing out on anything unless you need multi freq for the beaches .

And that's if it works on the wet ?

The V4.0 update offers a number of features / enhancements that will work with both the current three coils as well as the new elliptical coil. You do NOT have to buy the elliptical coil to be able to use most of the V4.0 0features but if you have a need for what the coil offers, you will need it to unlock all of the 4V4.0 functions.

Depending on the type of hunting you do, the new coil might not be a required upgrade path.

Rumors seem to take on a life of their own and the multi-frequency / updates required for coils vs. the detector / prices / what is in V4.0 are examples of that . . . . both will be released when the field trials confirm they work as desired by Alain and his team. He is not willing to release soemthign on a set date and find out it is not ready. There are other items in the works that will further compliment and expand the Deus going forward.

Andy
