Hear rumors it's a coil, new upgrade to the software. Any inside information out there?

A new version of the software is in development but it will not be released until it has been thoroughly tested and with several changes, it will likely be the end of 2015 before that happens (or possibly into 2016).

There is a new coil that will accompany the software but that will also be released when testing is done and the molds are ready.

The new software will be downward compatible but to realize all the benefits the software V4.0 offers, the new coil will be needed. Again, you will not need the new coil to use V4.0 but some of the options will be coil-dependent. There are limits to where you can take the Deus on software alone which is the reason for a new design coil to go with the new software.

 Thank you for the update! Sounds like a bright future for XP - can't wait to see how this new coil/software works!

I think it is worth the wait and I hope the new coil is smaller and maybe a multy freq to boot run a couple at a time?

If it's a dual-freq 6x9 or so I'll probably buy one....after the test results come out...sounds like it must be very complex to get it right hence the very long development process....

I want the Deus to beep on a silver dime at 10", a silver quarter at 12", a half at 15" and a silver dollar at 2 feet deep.

I want to hear a $1 dollar gold coin at 8" and I want it to tell me "Don't dig that" when it is iron.

I am a simple man with simple needs.

BTW, is anyone here hunting with the non-motion audio disc mode? What is the TUNE for? (read the manual, still don't know).

Maybe I am simpler than I thought.

I know it is going to be deeper then before and have better ID When you have a company that takes a machine and instead of every seven years or so sells you a new one they update it and make it better then you have a DEUS

I hope the new coil is small but I have my doubts....but one can hope. A lot of sites I hunt are old settlements with tons of square nails and chunks of iron and pieces fo rusted tin! YUCK! A smaller coil is very helpful for these kinds of sites.

You may have to get the racer for that. But maybe the deus will have a small coil.

so long as they can imrpove deep TID accuracy that will be a big step and the horseshoe indicator is just unreliable

i am fairly sure a multi frequ has been ruled out as its just not feasible with the current hardware

Where did you get your information from ?
Its not what i have been hearing . The new V4 version is supposed to be part of the package .
As the whole machine is wireless anyway it should work with the update ?

Anyway if the multi freq coil doesn't come then i think that XP will have got to the end of the line with regards to the Deus , a multi freq coil or capability would give the Deus an edge for many years to come
and give the machine a proper chance to do places that were once Minelab only territory , like the wet beach.

Multi freq has nothing to do with being wireless, and multi freq would destroy what Deus is famous for , http://www.t speed, Even if it were possible.

if its an option tou select, why would it "destroy" it? you wouldnt even realizecthe machine had it unless it was selected. Anyd stated at tbe beginning of this thread that v4 will be accompanied by a new coil and if you dont purchase the coil you wont be able to use all of the functions in v4. In your opinion what is going to be the specific function of the new coil needing tbe v4 software?
