Ok, not sure why I feel the need to even comment, but I am going to.
First and foremost! This is not about who's detector is best. This is about me meeting up with someone who is skilled with the etrac and learning something. YES! I did put it out there, as the title states. A FRIENDLY wager. I do own BOTH detectors and I have roughly 100+ hours on the etrac and over 150 on the AT Pro. Am I an expert? NO, not even close! I have only had one person seriously reply to my offer via email and thank you for that by the way. By serious, I mean someone local within a reasonable distance for us both.
I appreciate all the good input and offers to meet here there and anywhere else, but in reality, it needs to be a reasonable distance for me.
Since I have used both machines, I feel I have the right to voice my opinion. For ME, my etrac hasn't found anything my AT Pro can't find. Maybe its me, maybe its the areas I hunt or both. Sorry if it ruffled some feathers of certain people on here.
I like my AT Pro and I am happy with it. I want to love my etrac, but its hard to love it when it hasn't impressed me. Now, with that being said, my goal was to get with an experienced etrac user and compare signals with my AT Pro and learn something about BOTH machines. Apparently, there are several people interested in the results of this. Judging by the tread view count.
I didn't post this thread to get in a pissing match with etrac users.
To answer a few questions. If I can decipher certain posts.
I have ran the stock coin program since day one. The only so called tweaking I have done it open the top right corner. I run auto +3 usually, unless the ground is really clean and I can run high manual sensitivity. That's rare here.
I have ran TTF mode a time or two. The areas I hunt are littered with pull tabs and modern trash. TTF doesn't work that well on those sites for me.
Yes, I purchased the etrac used.
Again, I will reiterate, this is NOT. A bigger better than yours thread. Please do not turn it into one. If that is how my post came across, I am sorry. At the end of the the day, the truth of the matter is, they are both designed for detecting. I spent my $$$ on an etrac just like the rest of you etrac users. Therefore, I have a right to voice my thoughts on it.
