ever would have by leaving it set in his case. I have given away a hundred rings and coins and it always gives me pleasure to be able to do it. They are only things setting in a jar but to be able to convert them to gifts is much better.

It is funny but I have found over a hundred gold rings over the years and every time I find one something strikes me. As good as it feels to find one, the feeling is fleeting. I always think that the sorrow the person felt when they found it missing was much stronger and longer lasting then my thrill.

I wish I could give them all back. I think many detectorists feel that way too..

Beautiful brooch. Hillbilly ain't all that bad either :D:D

sure. I have actually worn it quite a bit, and am continually checking to make sure it is still there!

I do have to admit, it probably does look prettier on me than it would have you! :lol:
