    X-Terra Pro software update 1.0

It adds a "Continuous Auto Noise Cancel" feature. I believe it will be a welcome addition.

    Help me understand why...

You hit on something that I should have mentioned. Your sweep speed shouldn't be any faster than with your older machines, and in fact maybe even slower. The faster recovery speed (reset time) is really only useful for better target separation. I run mine with the slowest recovery to achieve the...

    Help me understand why...

I've had my best luck running All Tones and going by audio only. I do my best to ignore the TID due to the instability, and pay attention to the nuances of the audio response. It's no secret that I'm not a huge fan of the expanded TID range with 4 digits in each target bin. If they cut it in...

What are the differences between the X-Terra Pro and the Elite?

    Actually, it's 5, 10, 15, or 8kHz counting Beach Mode.

What are the differences between the X-Terra Pro and the Elite?

The PRO is a selectable single frequency machine, and the Elite is Simultaneous Multi Frequency.....pretty much a slightly watered-down Nox.

    New Exterra Elite

Honestly, since I have a PRO, and still have a 705 & Explorer SE, I can't see any advantage to adding the ELITE to the stable. In fact, I'm disappointed that Minelab is keeping the ridiculously huge TID range that only contributes to ID instability. They should have cut it in half.

    Xterra wired phones

Turn down your SENS until it stabilizes. Typically, somewhere around 15 is good, but could require a little lower depending on your level of tolerance.

    Xterra wired phones

I don't know what the problem is. What I do know is that you need a stereo plug, and the volume controls for the speaker and headphones work independently.

    Tiny but old

Appears to be an early cable-tie. Definitely machine made. I wonder if it would change the value it rang up as if it were straightened out.

    Not much chat.

As winter backs off, I'll post more on it. Just last night I got another 3" of snow, so it will be a while yet.
