Who goes swimming; CTX3030 or Nox800

Sube, The area I'm talking about is in West Central MN. They've had some rain since so maybe I missed the window of opportunity.

    Discrimination question

I've been meaning to add my two cents to this thread for quite some time. When I first got my explorer back when WWII was raging I started out using the factory settings. Within days I noticed that when I swung multiple times over the same target; some of the times I got a nice coin sound...

Who goes swimming; CTX3030 or Nox800

I recently bought a sand scoop. Water levels are really low up at the lake. I have both the CTX and Nox. I've heard of water intrusion issues with both, I've never water hunted with either. My main detector is my Explorer XS, but that isn't waterproof. Opinions anyone? Thanks, Chris

1877-CC Dime to go with Seated Half and Quarter

Hello All, I went back to where I found the 1876 Seated Half last week. Only find today was this 1877-CC dime. So for year have one of three different denominations. It would be nice to pop out a Seated Half Dime before the year is up. Don't think a Seated dollar is likely. I don't...

    Seated Half made my day...

Hello All, Not much detecting going on this year. Been way too dry to dig in any lawns; limiting myself to construction sites. I heard at my local bar someone saw some construction going on in a local town. The next day I drove around the county seeing what was tore up. Very little. I did...

Seated Quarter and Shield Nickel, Long time no post.

Hello all, not sure if I've posted on the new version of this Forum. Sure did like the old style better. Just got back from a construction site in a nearby town. Wanted to see if more dirt had been moved. Too late. I found these two on previous expeditions. This is my sixth seated...

Five silver dimes the hard way

Congrats, that's called a dime grand slam. But to be official they all have to be found in the same day. Not an easy feat. I've done it twice in my century or so of detecting.

Complete tone reversal in 50 tone....check it out!

I could see using that when looking for property stakes. Really, really difficult to get my brain to listen for low tones instead of high.

Diamond Ring / Old Homecoming Token / Old Laxative Token / Silver and Other Old Coins

Dave, Didn't make it up north this summer, with the snow now I don't think I'll point that way anytime soon. Did any of you guys get over to Battle Lake for road construction project this summer? They were redoing the road near what used to be the old ball park.

Old Finds From Last 3 Weekends

Dave, I see you are tending back back toward your Etrac over the Nox. Did you put enough time on the NOX to have strong opinions? I haven't used mine enough. Hope to get up your way soon. Chris

    My etrac is schizo...

j, I've had that happen before, got a signal that had me expecting silver but dug a zincoln instead. This typically happens in ground that is often flooded or watered, often the zinc cents come out of the ground with a very reddish tint. Not sure what the chemistry involved is, but at these...

Dug Indian Head cent #997 this afternoon.

Ed, Congrats on today's fattie. I haven't dug one of them for quite some time. I was lucky enough to find both S mints, but am missing quite a few from the 60s and 70s. Heck, at the rate you are going might as well try for 2k. Chris
