    moving from XL-Pro to V3i

I think you will be happy with the V3i. Just take it slow. Main adjustments, if any, that you would want to start messing with would be the sensitivity, delay and filters. That's about it in my opinion. Maybe using single freq 22 for gold jewelry hunting and 3 for silver/copper coin hunting if...

Lets get things honest and straight here.

Opinions you get will be based on conditions the hunter is in where that hunter hunts....and it's not where YOU hunt. Want an easy answer. Get a quarter and two little pieces of paper that you can tape to each side. Write V3i and one piece and CTX on another. Tape the pieces on each side of the...

Maiden voyage of the Vaquero and Sharp Shooter combo.

This is a report on the maiden voyage of the Tesoro Vaquero with the NEL 9x5 Sharp Shooter coil. The hunt was at a salt water beach, in both dry and wet sand environments. This beach is known for having black sand patches as well as iron trash, hot rocks and deep round targets due to the board...

1st cpl hunts with my new V3i

Start slow with that beast. There are A LOT of options on that thing. Utilize the advanced VDI features first ( polar plot, analysis, etc.) to help with target ID, before you start messing with the advanced settings like offsets, tracking, RX gain, etc. Lower RX gain first if the unit is acting...

For those on the fence ...Silver from the last couple of hunts.

Do you select the D2 coil for all the bigger SEF coils when assigning the coil to the V3i ? Also, are the bigger SEFs V rated ?

For those on the fence ...Silver from the last couple of hunts.

That's good to know the SEF 10x12 worked in those types of spots. And running in mixed mode to boot. Where you running a single frequency or multiple ?

Which it was in this instance. Previous owner verified, current owner in Whites database from previous purchases, and several questions were asked and answered.

can the name and info of the former owners registry be deleted without a password

If you have the serial number (inside battery compartment) and V3 number (comes up on start up screen), a Whites tech support rep will give you the password. You can then use it in the Owner Registration menu option, enter it on the password line, and gain access to then change the Owner Name...

    VX3 Question

I would say based on the fact there would still be more coil options, the VX3 would perform better.
