CTX 3030 Waterproof, Wireless & color display

Based on what I see it is waterproof like an AT Pro. Not an Excalibur! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2_0o9j2UhiE&feature=related

A friend finds an 1844 quarter with his v3.....10" down

I think the biggest issue with people who think the V3i is not a deep seeking detector is that they trust the depth indicator. I find that the V3i always gives a shallower reading than the actual depth. This post is an example of what I already knew.

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

Depends on the application & the soil. If you are looking to get between heavy trash and playground equipment, the 4x6 is a better choice, but I like the 5.3 for tight spots around underbrush and trees. 4x6 is better in mineralized ground.

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

First of all, make sure you have VCO on. It helps quite a bit. On shallow targets it may help to lift the coil a few inches. I don't think a 6x8 coil is much different than the 6x10. Maybe a 4x6 or the 5.3 would be my choice.

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

Thanks for the Kudos. I am not a big fan of Stereo MM, but it is just a matter of personal preference.

A great day for a smoothie!

One of the first targets dug yesterday was a smooth silver disk the size of a dime. I was not sure if it was even a coin until hours later when I got home. Glad I was able to get an ID on this one!

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

Basically the answer is yes. If you were directly centered over the button in Discriminate only mode, you would possibly have heard a chirp. As you can see on the video the chirp was not audible on every sweep, so there would be a good chance of sweeping the coil right over it an not hearing a...

    Shallow Water

Creeks and small streams are fine but careful with slippery rocks. Ocean beaches are a little more risky. I have heard of people getting hit by a large wave when they have their back turned. Also the salt air is something to be concerned with. Make sure you wash the coil and rods, and wipe...

Running a modified Relic program. It may not be much different than Hi Pro.

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

Tim, I have been using the D2 coil lately because I can swing it a bit better in the thick underbrush that is beginning to fill in this time of year. If you look at some of my older videos you will see me using the SEF coil in mixed mode. I filmed a lot of button finds today, with a total...

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

Excellent point that I forgot to mention. I was in 7.5 KHz. Video has been updated. Thanks for the heads up! As I mentioned, I don't use it in the trashy areas.

Mixed Mode Demonstration on a Deep Target

A lot of people I know do not use Mixed Mode. Sometimes I don't use it, but if I am after deep coins and relics, it is a must. Here is a video of a really good example of Mixed Mode in action. Happy Hunting! Neil http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX-rjMLnXHY

    Why mixed mode audio?

The edges of the coil will pick up a deeper signal in Mixed Mode which may not be heard at all in Discriminate only. Once the coil is centered over the target you will often get a nice tone from Discriminate.

    VX3 pinpointing

Do you mean you had the V3i with the D2, and now you have the Vx3 with the 950 coil? You will find that the 950 is easier to pinpoint than with the D2.
