    6x10dd or 10dd

If you're looking for something that works pulling silver out of trashy areas I'd recommend the Eclipse 5.3. Better depth than the 4x6 shooter coil. The two DD coils you mentioned will only have an advantage in the trash if you were to detect everywhere from from 2 directions (90 degrees to each...

Interesting observation on BigFoot coil with V3i

For those of you using the BigFoot coil on your V3i, it's no news that when running 3 frequencies the VDI numbers are skewed on some targets more than others. For example a nickle with any other coil VDI's about 18. With the bigFoot it VDI's at 52. On the other hand, a zinc penny with the BF...

Need help with adding handle to water scoop

I think I'd like to add another handle to my SunSpot scoop. I've seen a number of helper or cheater handles added about half way down the handle to help with raising and sifting out the contents but I haven't had any luck in searching for past posts on the subject. Any help, suggestions, photos...

    I Have a Question About Coils:detecting:

The HotFoot works very well and is my go to coil for competition hunts, and shallow coins and Jewelry in trashy areas.

    Question Please V-rated

Non V rated coils still work on all 3 frequencies including the 22.5kHz. They just don't always allow the V3i operator to use the TX Boost mode. Most of my coils, I've had prior to the release of the V3i so I use them all the time on it. Some will allow the use of TX Boost while some won't. The...

    V3i Rechargable Battery Pack question?

Yes, this is normal. The Alkaline batteries will not last as long as a fully charged rechargable pack but the Alkaline batteries taper off more gradual compared to the rechargable that once it starts to lose power, it loses it quickly.

    V3i and the Bigfoot

Yes, Lots of nugget hunting here. I spend time at the beach in California quite it bit and water hunting in the summers isn't bad. You're right about no winter. Fall to spring it's usually in the 70's to 80's, and like they say, it's a dry heat and I don't have to shovel it off my...

    V3i and the Bigfoot

I use a Hotfoot coil quite often. It's great in competition hunts and nothing works better in the very trashy areas. At only 2" wide, it can get between most everything. The depth is limited to only about 3" but can can also be a benefit as it keeps deeper trash items from masking shallower...

Is V3i/Vx3 in Wet Salt Beach as good as Minelab FBS?

I run a Minelab Sovereign GT on the wet sand with a Sunray Intruder S-12 coil. I'd sure like to see a V3i program that will run as quiet and deep. I haven't come up with one yet. As far as target analysis on the beach, when I hunt I don't bother with trying to analize the target. I can scoop it...

    New to the V3 a few questions.....coils

I like the Eclipse 5.3 in the trashy areas and it gets very good depth. For the absolute best in target separation in trash the 4x6 shooter is great but not as deep as the 5.3. If you're able to use the 6x10 then it's not really that bad as far as trash goes.

Is V3i/Vx3 in Wet Salt Beach as good as Minelab FBS?

I don't know about the FBS but my BBS is much deeper than my V3 on wet salt sand.
