    Great job Calabash! That must have been a strange signal? That is one nice coin, and the oldest I have seen in a while. Could be lost only 36 years after Columbus landed!

    Brass chart navigational dividers from Florida 1715 beach

    Lucky, I had used a modern version long ago plus I had read everything I could find about the Treasure Coast and stared at the pictures till my eyes bled. (We don’t have many inland sites nearby). Then I just had to remember where I saw similar. And that was the hard part haha. Thanks fwcrawford, HH

    Questions from a “land lubber”.

    And once you dig that iron, you could go back over the area, maybe in a new direction, the iron may be masking better targets. This is a game of inches. I bring a couple things I want to find with me and drop them in the dry sand to hear how they sound. Make small adjustments till you like it. HH

    Not silver but I am stoked! Brass chart dividers on 1715 beach

    Found a picture in a couple papers. This one is from: “The illustration is found in Contributions of the Florida State Museum, Social Sciences, No. 12, A 1715 Spanish Treasure Ship, by Carl J. Clausen, University of Florida, Gainesville, May 1965” Same design on a Texas 1618 wreck called LaBelle.

    Little bleeps

    Down here you get a bleep if you sweep the coil across the dry/wet line or if your sensitivity is too high. You don't mention noice cancel but try that if you haven't and try ground balance. If the sand is really mineralized, sweeping north-south is quieter than east-west. You might sweep at a...

    Beach performance

    @rumtide, Exactly, beach dependent.

    Beach performance

    Agree with pirate for our Atlantic sand in Florida. Beach 2 runs more stable, quieter and coin size objects ring out. Can also run SENS at 23 most of the time. NB and GB often. I use Beach 1 as a checker to see if I get a better signal sometimes. I think it depends on the sand.
