    Patent litigation is fairly common nowadays and patent owners like to protect their rights. Even if the patent doesnt have a leg to stand on, the lawsuit could delay a competitors product getting to market if the claim is strong enough. Or it could get the defendant to settle where the patent...

    Thanks for the input everyone. Seems like I can expect similar EMI response if I get a D2 but not a big deal, I kind of figured as much. Maybe one of these years the engineers will figure it out and we'll get the "EMI" setting. I can usually get any of the machines I use (CTX, D1, ATPro) stable...

    Same here. I use the z-lynk with the MS-3 headphones on the CTX. Works great!

    Is it true?

    Minelab's website states they support their products for at least 5 years after they are discontinued. I don't think their site is up to date because they do not list the E-Trac as discontinued yet. If I recall they were discontinued a year or so ago so even the ones sold within the past 3 years...

    Thats a tough one. I would personally hang on to it. I never had the E-Trac, but I have the CTX. I know they're very similar so it would be a great backup, plus the E-Trac was discontinued. But if I needed the money I would part with it.
