1-16-23 Hunt

Went out in the mountains at an old home site after work for about an hour and a half.

Found some junk, some bullet cases, 1940 wheat penny and and old machete. It had been there awhile. The old wood handle was almost rotten off.

Going back to the old home site very soon.

Thanks for reading and looking!

Good job sleuthing one out!
HH Jeff
Thank you!
Old home sites are exciting to hunt, you never know what your going to find in them, especially if your the first one in there with a metal detector.
They sure are. I cant say im the first one back there but a person has to walk straight up a steep mountain to get to it. You really want to go check it out to make that kind of walk and cant get a 4 wheeler or sxs up there.

Interesting finds. Keep at it.
Old home sites can have hidden stash's.
CK the basement or crawl space.
Under any porch.
In an under doors, sill plates, window sill, ECT ...
And remember. Tobacco tins and coffee cans will ring up iron. And partially rusted out exposing coins will be very erratic signals. Dig em all.
Never know which one is full of coins.
Good Luck .

Thanks for all the info.
Your Welcome.
I forgot to mention.
Scan All stone walls
And CK around anything visible from the kitchen and bedroom windows
Post, big rocks, ect ...
If you can get inside.
CK railing post. Behind and under any built in mirrors or window box's.
Look for false walls. Or walls and rooms that don't measure the same as the outside walls less thickness of walls. I found a nice stash years ago under a serving window sill. Big space.
Good Luck.
Hope to see some Awesome finds.

Keep at that spot Any old home site is well worth hitting multiple times good luck!
