    Silver ring and marble

Hunted a beach area today and scored a silver ring and a nice marble. The ring is not marked 925...but is marked "FF"?. But it had that silver look coming out of the dirt (you know what I mean...blotchy black tarnish with silver glimmers shining through) and it cleaned up like silver. Pics are...

Five silver dimes the hard way

Etrac with stock coil. Still a good enough machine for me. I'm tempted by water machines like the nox but still swinging the etrac.

Five silver dimes the hard way

Ok so over the past week or so I've been hunting an old home site and have made some really great finds. So far I've found five silver dimes with the last one (found yesterday) being a really nice condition 1917 merc which is not totally unusual until I sat back and looked at my new...

    Playground gold

Congrats! I've yet to score gold at a playground but it's not for lack of trying. Usually when I spin through there are very few targets. At least in my area the playgrounds get hit hard.

    Oldest silver coin to date

In our ground silver ages really well. Copper is a whole other story. I'm always jealous when I see guys digging Indians with almost no corrosion! My Indians are almost always unreadable.

    Oldest silver coin to date

A 3 hour hunt today produced my oldest silver coin to date and another matron head large cent (my 3rd in a week). The silver coin is an 1841 O dime. The large cent is somewhere between 1816 and 1836...with no visible date. The dime appears to be in great shape. Opinions on the grade of the...
