First gold ring! I can relax now (a little, maybe)...

jkline and I went out yesterday and teamed up on some University grass up by the hallowed halls of academia. Made a couple dollars in clad, a couple costume earrings, a mans wristwatch, nothing overly exciting for me. jkline managed to make about the same in clad but he pulled a ‘52 Rosie out so that was a saving moment!
I went back out for a couple hours today all by my lonesome because an unnamed buddy just had to go fishing for fish instead of dirt!!! Lol. It seemed on the start that it was turning into dime day, no quarters or nickels, just dimes. I started to make the turn back along a sidewalk towards where I parked. There is a small picnic table near a large tree, the ground around the table is woodchips and everything sits a few feet from the sidewalk. There is a trash can there as well so figured I would scan the chips, dump my trash finds and call it day. After all, it is football Sunday!!!
I thought maybe jkline had hit it yesterday but I actually did not see him so thought maybe five minutes to just double check. First thing I hit a dime about 2” down so now thinking maybe he didnt get this far. A few feet father and just behind the tables bench seat hit a high silver number and a bouncy nickel number. Silver was solid hitting so time to dig. Chips were 3” deep and then loose black dirt, pushed trowel in and 2” to solid clay. Pulled plug out and three quarters were basically stacked on the clay. Coin spill, nice! At least I go home with more than just dimes!!!!!
Stick pinpointer back in hole, buzzzzz. Another quarter?? Its outside the plug wall a bit so I sliced another inchish off the wall and a gold ring falls into broad daylight all shiny and a circle of heavenly gold!! I just sat there, not even expecting that to happen. Grab pocket for phone to take photo, no phone. Temporary panic but start to think I left it in truck and praying I did.
Thats twice now I’ve hit gold as I was done for the day, this time maybe 10 feet left to go and done and out!
Once home I used the loupe and saw “14kArtcarved” so score. Weighs 4.46g
