Few Cold Weather Finds: Gold/Silver/Masonic Fob

thanks Rick. Appreciate it! I believe I know the site you are referring to. I haven't been there in at least 15 years but remember getting a 1900 Indian and a military eagle watch fob. Will have to give it a go sometime again. That Deus 2 is excellent in junk and iron so no site is off limits...

Few Cold Weather Finds: Gold/Silver/Masonic Fob

Finds are from a few cold weather hunts over the past 2 weeks. All finds were pulled at researched public sites from the North and South Dakota with my XP Deus 2 metal detector. The ground got very hard by the end of last weekend so it's pretty much a wrap up here unless we have a major warm up...

Barber, Vs & Indians / Old Navy Button / Sheriffs pin badge / 1930s Tootsie Toy

Hey Chris, Ground still diggable. XP2 probably part of it. Probably got at least a couple more than I would have pulled with Etrac. That detector is excellent for deep targets on edge.

thanks Mark, yes, I really like old school sites. I feel the same way about challenging myself to hit a deep old target. Even just one good old target can make for a fun day and lead to something else. That D2 is quite a machine. I am glad Elmy convinced me to get one and try it. Dave

thanks. I most always to pre-hunt research and plan my route out for the day so I make the most of my time. Less daylight this time of year makes the day fly by.

thanks Jeff, yes, that was a fun park. I am thinking the park was 1930s era but there was probably a house that was way older there.

Barber, Vs & Indians / Old Navy Button / Sheriffs pin badge / 1930s Tootsie Toy

Agree, poor design on that. I just ordered a new attachment part and installed it on the top of the shaft. I have a remote cover with a small loop on it, so I tied an elastic string to that and the shaft. Now, I just leave the remote on the shaft all the time. I know they make aftermarket parts...

thanks Rick, appreciate the comments. Yes, this is a hobby where you really need a lot of patience, and you can't always expect to find something but take it when it comes. Many times, just hitting 1 coin will lead to another. Dave Dave
