    T2+ Struggling

I had a basic T2 some years back and only relic hunted with it. Didn't dig much lead with it, but did find good brass relics.

Got the ATD working today. It air tests deep, even with the small coil. I used a quarter and a nickel. Even being out in the yard with it for a few minutes, I had to come back in with those damned diverticulitis pains. Gonna be a while before I can go on a real hunt.

Thanks! I still have you in mind when I sell!

    Wilson RC IV.

Once my current health situation gets a little better, I plan to go dig a bullet or 2.

Wonder if coils would interchange on the 2 machines?

    Wilson RC IV.

Got my 2 Wilson's back today. The old, ugly RC works perfectly! It has a huge coil on it, but air tests great, and seems to be stable. The nice looking ATD shows battery strength on the meter, but thats all. No beeps. The IV looks like it's been through hell, but works, with or without...

Ok. The repair guy was listening for beeps. I'm anxious to see if the battery meter responds, so that we know it's getting power. I will keep you posted. Thanks!!

    My dance with Covid

In the local small towns, covid is running rampant right now. I know many who are experiencing covid.

Going to pick up the machines tomorrow. The man called and said that he couldn't get the ATD to make any sound, but he did fix the battery wires. The larger machine does beep, but this guy knows nothing about detectors, and works on stereos, scanners, and other electronics.

    Wilson Detectors

Talked to the guy at the shop yesterday. He says that the machines are on his bench, next in line for repair. Should have them by this coming Thursday.

Anyone Ever Take Out One Of Your Antique Machines For A Nostalgic Hunt? :detecting:

I will take an older, simple machine any day over these modern tech ones. If I go over a good target and don't detect it, I'll never know it was there...lol

Thanks! Looks like both machines have these?

Thanks! Each machine has a toggle switch underneath, which I assume is for reset or something? It's a finger trigger.

    Wilson Detectors

Some guy beat me to a nice Nautilus at the sale. I talked to him, as he was there yesterday. He got that machine on Saturday. I took the 2 Wilson's to a repair shop today and left them. It's funny....the larger Wilson had been painted came, and the speaker was covered with tape. The deceased...

I do have a question. Do you remove the battery door by just pulling the plastic studs, or do they twist out? The other machine has a battery door, but I don't want to break anything. I will give you first refusal on these if I sell them. Thanks! Rick

Truthfully, the difference in most detectors

Younger hunters want the most modern "headache" machines out there, and they usually have enough "smarts" to use them. I'm old-fashioned and "old school". Been digging since 1979. I don't want to dig to China for junk. If it's 8" or less deep, I'll dig it with a simple machine.

    Wilson Detectors

The ADT is missing the battery door. I wish I had looked around better. It could have been laying there somewhere. I did leave 2 more machines there. They looked like old nautilus machines, but the boxes were smaller and brown. No visible battery connectors on the outside of the control boxes...

    Wilson Detectors

There is an electronic shop not too far from me. I may take them to him to see if he can get at least one of them working. May sell one or both once I get them checked out.

Finally got a pic to upload.
