I went by an estate sale this morning and bought 2 Wilson machines for 5.00 each. One is a Daytona model with a small coil. It is in better shape than the other, which has a big coil. These came from near Petersburg, and I'm sure they were used for relics. I need to have new 9v battery connectors put on the Daytona. Wilson made some good machines back in the day.

Good score on both, the ATD is highly sought after by Wilson collectors. The ATD is the best detector Wilson made, the Relic and Coin IV is no slouch either. The ATD has ground balance, R&C doesn’t. That would have made my year in finds.
I’m always interested in purchasing Wilson’s if you ever decide to part with.
Would buy the ATD at a good price, have 3 R&C IV‘S already.
Would buy the ATD not working or working.
The ADT is missing the battery door. I wish I had looked around better. It could have been laying there somewhere. I did leave 2 more machines there. They looked like old nautilus machines, but the boxes were smaller and brown. No visible battery connectors on the outside of the control boxes, either. Looked like you would have to go inside the boxes to access batteries. Never saw ones like that. They had the old D-shaped handles. They appeared to be in good shape.
I do have a question. Do you remove the battery door by just pulling the plastic studs, or do they twist out? The other machine has a battery door, but I don't want to break anything. I will give you first refusal on these if I sell them. Thanks! Rick
They just pull out, I’ve had to use pliers to pull them out on a few occasions, don’t squeeze too hard.

That could have been by Neuman. They were Wilson & Neuman but split up. Wilson was the more productive of the two

They look so much more fun to use than todays machines........there is something about knobs,switches and meters.My favourite machines have all been like this type,sovereign,nautilus,beach hunter 300 id,seahunter,red heat,c scope 1220xd and more......good old knobs and switches.
Some guy beat me to a nice Nautilus at the sale. I talked to him, as he was there yesterday. He got that machine on Saturday. I took the 2 Wilson's to a repair shop today and left them. It's funny....the larger Wilson had been painted came, and the speaker was covered with tape. The deceased owner must have been hunting where he wasn't supposed to be.

on the R&C IV there should be switch on the bottom, pull it towards you to engage the booster for depth, if it’s not there it could be the red button on the face of it. There were no retune buttons on the R&C. The meters on both is just for the batteries.
