I use both the 11 inch biaxial coil and sharpshooter and both seem to struggle. I hunt in 0 discrimination, 2+ tones and around 85 sensitivity. It is a good machine overall.Fond of the T2 with the T2 + being my favorite. I am not pleased however with the 11" BiAxial and most of my hunter was done with the 5" Double D in heavy iron trash. I was not a bullet hunter but encountered a lot in the sites I hunted. I didn't have any issues and used 3-Tone most of the time, but preferred bP mode.
I worked slowly and methodically and found my share of bullets w/o problems. If I had a T2+ agin I'd use the NEL Sharpshooter coil.

Thank you too Monte. Hope you’re doing well.Good photo, thank you very much. Although I used 2 tone or 3 tone most of the time, as I mentioned the the boost process mode with a disk setting of 10 and a Sensitivity as high as I could run it perform very well for lead and just about anything else out there.. The T2 works at a very good general purpose frequency.

I've noticed the T2 ain't great on deep lead myself. I think my Garrett ATPRO will get a bullet a little deeper but that is the only thing it might get deeper over the T2I’ve been hunting with the T2+ for almost 2 years. Love the machine but have noticed it struggles with lead. Anyone else having this issue?
Why do you run your sensitivity on 75?I’ve been using the t2 exclusively for the past 8 years. Never had a problem with it struggling with lead. Number wise in my experience lead comes up most always in the mid to upper 70s. I use the stock coil most of the time and have found that using 75 on sensitivity disc set at 10 in boost process seems to give the best resultsView attachment 20932
A statement that has be beat to death but still makes good sense and really applies here concerning the T2 is “ Using too high sensitivity is like driving in heavy fog with your high beams on. You can see, in this case, hear much better with the low beams. Why do you run your sensitivity on 75?
Do you ever use the all metal mode?A statement that has be beat to death but still makes good sense and really applies here concerning the T2 is “ Using too high sensitivity is like driving in heavy fog with your high beams on. You can see, in this case, hear much better with the low beams.
Im just curious what youve experienced with the T2 to make you decide that it struggles on lead
How do you like the Nel coil? Im satisfied with the stock T2 coil but Im always looking for an edge. How is the soil in the area where it is struggling? I still use my T2 often. I try and set it up as best I can with the terrain I'm hunting. My goal is to get the machine as stable as I can, ground balance and go. As other members mentioned you do not need the sensitivity cranked up to high. In some soils it can actually hurt your depth. I usually use the NEL tornado on my T2. But I still use smaller coils if I'm digging trashy sites or in thick brush. If I'm on a site where there is civil war or rev war lead. I'm not looking at VDI#s. I'm digging every repeatable signal. And even sketchy ones.
I get a little more depth with it. It's my go to coil in open fields. I still us the stock coil in the woods or cornfields with stubble. How do you like the Nel coil? Im satisfied with the stock T2 coil but Im always looking for an edge.
I bought the Teknetics 15" coil about a year ago for $89.00 from Kellyco to hunt fields and artillery shells but that thing was like swinging a hubcap. In an air test it got me about 2 more inches of depth on small targets ( bullet, buttons, ect.) but I could never get my machine to ground balance with it so I sent it back for a refund. I tried that 15" coil too. I ended up selling it. If I need to go that deep I have a GPX 4800 that will do it. I have a 15" for that to and it is not that fun too swing. I usually wear out after a few hours anymore.I bought the Teknetics 15" coil about a year ago for $89.00 from Kellyco to hunt fields and artillery shells but that thing was like swinging a hubcap.
