    Looks like you had a great day with that new machine!!! Quite a few interesting non coin related items too!! Makes a hunt like this even more interesting. About those wheats reading low… I have found that early ones read lower than later ones.

    I started out with the XTerra 50 which was the older version of that line and did well with it, even financing other detector buys with what I found with it. They came with a 7.5 khz concentric coil and had several other coil sizes and frequencies to suit your needs… pretty versatile detector...

    I bought the book to ID coins when I started detecting in 2006, but have bought a newer copy since then which is old now too. I mainly use it now to check for rare dates, so not really concerned with current value as much.
